Answer: No wait Every doctor has a different post-care regimen. It is always a good idea to ask your doctor. In general you can go back to the gym right after SMP. There is no restriction on this. Many of my patients work out daily. They usually go back to the gym even on the same day.Scalp Micro Pigmentation is a combination of art work and technical skill. Answer: SMP - exercise Sweating it out with exercise may make you feel amazing but it is not recommended right away after a procedure of scalp micro-pigmentation. Sweat can have adverse effects on the newly settling pigment that can lead to potential pre-mature fading. The first 4 days to one week is crucial in letting the pigment settle in its intended place before beginning any heavy routine activities that lead to excessive perspiration on the scalp region. After the healing period is complete and the pigment remains intact, the patient is free to resume any routine activities without any guilt and pain. Therefore, it is advisable to abstain from any physical activity that involves sweating or water-sports until you have the green signal from the specialist or aesthetician.

Answer: Post SMP Ideally with the first session give it a few days before any heavy exercise, sweating or head washing. The pigment needs time to settle with the excess allowed to leave the scalp leaving a base solid pigment. The next session the pigment will be stronger and so on.

Answer: Sweat out that pigment Hello.SMP pigment is placed superficially and should not be affected; however, any puncture in the skin is not waterproof for 24 hours so I typically tell patients to wait 1 day so to not remove any pigment casts. Everyone is different. The physician performing your procedure will have specific directions. Nikki D. Hill, MD

Answer: Post op care It is best to give the scalp a week to fully heal before sweating, however you will be fine after 3 days if a week is too long to wait.
