Every doctor has a different post-care regimen. It is always a good idea to ask your doctor. In general you can wet your head the same day. We often wash the head for our patients before they leave. Some may say this is not acceptable. So it is up to the doctor.
A water wash without soap is ok the day after SMP but no rubbing. A shampoo can be done after 3 days have passed. See website below
