One cannot fully resolve anymarionette lines, but can improve them by 1. filling them with a filler, 2. lifting,if needed, with a “Lift & Fill” Facelift, and 3. resurfacing withlaserbrasion. All of these components can improve and soften the marionettelines.
Voluma is a new filler made by Allergan, the makers of Juvederm and Botox. It is FDA approved for use in the cheeks (mid-face). It has a much larger particle size, and is intended to be injected deeper and add volume. Because it is brand new, we are not sure whether it could be used in the marionette area in very small amounts. At this time, I would recommend using one of the other hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Juvederm, Restylane, or even Juvederm Ultra Plus or Perlane if you have very deep marionette lines.
There are many choices for this area. Voluma is typically used in the cheeks for augmentation while other fillers (Juvederm Ultra and Restylane) may be better used in this area. Voluma may aid in lifting the cheeks and then the others used to fill the lines to achieve optimal results.
Use your mirror and you can see the natural answer. In the mirror push down on your cheeks and you will see how the marionette folds deepen around the mouth. Now, lift the cheeks and see how almost magically the fold are lifted up and soften. So the answer, use Voluma for what it does best, lifting the cheeks, to lift up and soften the marionette folds, and then secondly use Juvederm Ultra Plus to fine tune the folds for the most naturally looking correction.
Voluma is designed to be an ideal treatment for cheeks. Fortunately there are great fillers for marionette lines. I would recommend that you consider Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus (a little thicker), or Restylane for that area.
Juvederm Voluma has a large particle size. It is currently approved for mid-face volume loss and is injected deeper. I would absolutely not recommend putting it into the marionette lines as it will end up huge and puffy and overfilled. You should stick to regular Juvederm for this area which works in shallower areas and is more fluid. Juvederm Voluma would be a terrible idea here. Seek in-person treatment with a trained medical professional for appropriate care."
I use diluted Juvederm Ultra Plus for the deep forehead wrinkles, however, one can use Voluma deep and also superficial for softening this area.
It's a shame that there are so many highly visible examples of poorly done cosmetic procedures in Hollywood. The unnatural chipmunk look you are referring to should never occur if you are being treated by an expert board-certified dermatologist who understands facial anatomy and aesthetics. The...
Voluma is an injectable hyaluronic-acid-based facial filler that has been formulated to add volume to the cheeks, cheekbones and chin. You will see the results immediately. You may have some post-procedure redness, swelling, and/or bruising but these should resolve within a few days to two weeks...
It generally takes about 3-4 days for this to go away, although sometimes it can take up to two weeks. This all depends on your rate of recovery, and how you generally recover from trauma. If you heal quickly, then you will heal from this quickly as well since it's related to the needle rather...
Hi,Voluma is not a commodity that is used the same in all patients. There are patients who have minimal volume loss who may need a small amount one time over a two year period. There are other patients who need a large amount of volume replacement. Those patients are treated...
Juvederm is a softer hyaluronic acid filler that is used primarily in the perioral and lip area. It is excellent in this area and should not be used in the tear trough area as it can provide too much volume in this area. Voluma is a deeper volumizing hyaluronic acid filler that is used primarily...
