Hi,Voluma is not a commodity that is used the same in all patients. There are patients who have minimal volume loss who may need a small amount one time over a two year period. There are other patients who need a large amount of volume replacement. Those patients are treated initially and asked to return to our office about 2 to 3 weeks after their treatment and may have a little more if needed. The US studies have shown that Voluma lasts up to two years, based on an average of 5 to 6 syringes per patient. We have just completed the Dr. de Maio Masters Course of Voluma Injections that emphasized the best strategic areas of the face for getting the best, longest lasting Voluma results while using a minimum of the product, saving patients potentially thousands of dollars. Most importantly, choose your injecting physician most carefully based on their artistic vision, experience, and technical skill. Good luck and be well.Dr. P
The study submitted to the FDA that led to approval of Voluma in the US cited 2+ years of effect. This effect does rely on fully correcting cheek volume loss at the time of treatment. It is not uncommon to have an initial Voluma treatment with a "touch-up" at some point in the first few months to ensure adequate cheek shape and complete correction. If the cheek aging and volume loss are not completely corrected with Voluma, one cannot expect to see the full two year duration of effect.
In the clinical study, Voluma showed to prove duration that lasted up to two years. Not all patients will maintain two years of duration, as some people don't get as long of a duration with injectable fillers as others. While the product may last for two years, your face will continue to age, and annual maintenance for cheek enhancement is likely. Touch-ups may be required to maintain optimal fullness in the cheeks.
Voluma is FDA approved to last two years. Unlike other fillers available, patients only need a single treatment with optimal correction.
Voluma can last for years. However how long it lasts is dependent on how much product you receive, and your metabolism. Most patients feel that Voluma is very worthwhile. But it is possible that you will need a touch up sooner than two years.
In clinical studies Voluma results lasted for approximately 2 years, on average. This would mean that some people will have shorter lasting effects, and some people will have longer. The lasting effect will also be determined by the amount used, the location it's put in, and the depth that it's at. All of these things, as well as your body's metabolism have to do with the lasting effects of any filler. But on average, Voluma results should be about 2 years. Both Juvederm and Voluma are hyaluronic fillers. However, they serve different purposes. Juvederm, a soft hyaluronic acid filler is best for treating the lips as well as decreasing fine line and wrinkle appearance. It may also be effectively used to reduce the dark circle in the under eye....
Fillers have a risk of embolization. What this means is that the thick gel of a filler - any brand of filler; this isn't specific to Voluma - can accidentally be injected into a blood vessel and clot off blood flow to the area that is fed by that blood vessel. The problem with blurry vision is...
Both Voluma and Sculptra are injectable dermal fillers used to add volume and lift to the cheeks, but they work in slightly different ways and have different properties. Here's a comparison:1. Voluma: Voluma is a hyaluronic acid filler specifically designed to add volume and lift to the cheeks....
