What is the best way to address the loose skin of my upper arms? (Photo)

I'm 54 and had an arm lift to address loose skin after weight loss. Although I see improvement from before, I'm not happy about the remaining skin. My surgeon doesn't think a second surgery would show a noticeable change. Is this the best result possible for me?

In the photos you're sharing, apparently the skin is still sagging from the underlying muscle frame. It's hard to tell without evaluating you, but I believe an arm lift revision could tighten the skin further and achieve even better results than what you have. I do agree that the change from a second surgery will not be as dramatic as the first one, but there's still some room for improvement.

In my experience, you could benefit from a brachioplasty revision, which would help you get rid of the remaining loose skin.

The residual, mild excess skin you mentioned could be attributed to genetics and your weight loss history. Another surgical intervention might offer tighter skin by making a new incision near the current scar. However, additional surgeries might produce diminishing returns, as less skin can be removed each time.
In conclusion, while your current outcome is commendable, if you're considering further enhancement, another brachioplasty could be discussed with your surgeon.

You have a very nice result. The scar is maturing nicely and good location with good contour. The limitation is that the remaining skin will not change. Unfortunately, we do not have effective non-invasive technology that significantly improves body skin elasticity. Thank you for sharing.

Your arms look pretty good in terms of shape and contour I can see that there is a little more skin towards the end by your elbow. The way to make this tighter is to remove more skin but your surgeon may be correct that the change will not be nearly as dramatic as your first procedure and there is the potential to have issues with the incision/scar. When skin is pulled too tight it leads to thicker scars and the potential for the incision opening up as its healing or skin necrosis.

From your submitted photos there is an improvement from your before photos.  If you are interested in a revision but not sure if you are a candidate you may wish to visit with another board certified plastic surgeon for a second opinion.  Depending on the degree of skin laxity you may be able to consider BodyTite or Morpheus8 for improvement.  If the skin elasticity is poor, then excision would give the best outcome.
