Voluma and exercise: how long should one wait before resuming any physical activity?

Voluma is composed
of hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in our skin as a
moisturizer. Therefore, it is biocompatible, easily tolerated, and
has no real side effects or reactions. However, you may experience
some bruising, soreness or redness from the injections. I'd recommend
letting your body rest and recover for at least 48 hours before
engaging in vigorous exercise as the increased blood flow could make
you bruise more. I would also recommend avoiding heat, such as hot
yoga, saunas and steam rooms for about 48 hours, just as a
precaution. We also recommend avoiding dental appointments for one
month after Voluma to minimize the rare risk of a biofilm (a
bacterial infection), which is thought to be a rare side effect
following Voluma and dental work. Please consult a board-certified
dermatologist to have your face sculpted and rejuvenated with Voluma. 

I let my patients exercise after 24 hours but there really is no restriction.  Swelling and bruising (needle injection) can get worse if you increase blood pressure too soon.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  In order to avoid any unnecessary swelling or bruising I ask patients to refrain from any strenuous activity for 24 hours.  Hope this helps.
