Is this normal bruising 4 days after Voluma in upper cheeks? (photo)

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  Dermal fillers typically take between 2-4 weeks to soften and become integrated into the tissues, so hang in there, you should feel the material soften quickly.  Although Voluma is placed deeply into the tissues of the face, leading to less chance of bruising, it can occasionally happen in the thinner tissues of the lower eyelid.  You can clear the bruising faster with warm compresses and the use of bromelain and arnica montana.  Hope this helps.

filler used to enhance the appearance of the face. Bruising is normal and can last 2 weeks or more after a treatment. In our office we treat bruises with a laser as early as the next day. This typically makes the bruise resolve within 1-3 days. Please

Based solely on your photo, yes, your bruising and swelling look normal. If you want, take arnica for the bruising. It can help. Should resolve within a couple of weeks although the harness may take up to 4weeks.

Not to worry, the bruising you are experiencing is not uncommon, nor is the firmness, particularly 4 days out. Give yourself a week to 10 days to fully recover - sometimes facial bruising lingers but the firmness should subside by that time. If you have any concerns about your healing or the look of the filled areas at that point, I would advise following up with your injector.

It is common to have bruising in the under eye area after Voluma if needles were used for injection. Cannulas decrease this risk and is a safer technique. A vascular laser can improve the duration of the bruise. Otherwise, it should resolve in about 10 days. Mild firmness is common as well.

Normal. Swelling may last a week but hardness, especially with Voluma can last up to 3-4 weeks. I know because I have had it myself. This will decrease in time. Bruising takes 7 odd days to settle. All the best, Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
