I got non surgical nose job with Dr. Friedman in February of this year (2024). Every part of the experience was awesome. Office staff, nurses and Dr. Friedman himself were all amazing to meet and work with. I ended up getting filler to my chin as well to balance my features. There was zero pain with the experience and healing was super smooth. The change was so natural looking but drastic enough to make a huge difference in my appearance and self esteem. I'll be making a follow up appointment soon enough but I'm still so thrilled with the results!
Went to Dr. Friedman for my breast augmentation and am SO GLAD I DID! My results aren’t just how I pictured they would be, they’re even better than I imagined they would be! He is such a gifted surgeon and his staff are super kind and professional. I loved my experience with his office!
Dr. Friedman is great! He was attentive, kind and answered all of my questions. During the procedure he was calm and professional. I felt calm throughout the entire thing because Dr. Friedman had conversation going. I got the Chin Lipo so I'd be ready by my wedding. It really enhanced my look and I am forever grateful.
Previous liposuction under chin was performed in 2012. Happy with results, but after two kids, 13 years, and about 30 lb weight gain the fat underneath my chin came back. I have what I call a “slopey” neck, where it looks like my chin is connected to my chest. It’s awful, makes me look heavier and older than I am. Dr. Friedman was honest and very thorough, because of my age my skin laxity wasn’t the best. In fact, I was barely above if not at the line of acceptability he has for skin laxity. He also told Me that due to my previous surgery, as well as Kybella, there would be scar tissue, which acts like little roadblocks as he is suctioning, otherwise it’s like a “hot knife through butter” on patients with no previous lipo history. Another thing to consider was that Dr. Friedman only does regular, old school lipo, no heating element/tightening. His reason being, to keep up with the latest technology is expensive and ever changing. He knows what he is doing with this machine and he’s sticking with it, basically. I went ahead with the surgery due to the overwhelming positive reviews, the fact that he does “awake” lipo, and tons of before-after photos with many patients necks that looked similar to mine with amazing after results. Mine of course was “extended” submental lipo, which made it a bit more money, and I also think I was charged a little more due to it being almost a revision since my previous lipo results had diminished. According to the website, “Extended” submental lipo is usually $3500, whereas I paid $3,750. There is a $75 consultation fee, which will go towards the surgery cost if you decide to book, and you can also send photos for free and Dr. can usually tell if you are a candidate or not from that (wasn’t the case for me unfortunately). There is also a $500 booking deposit that also goes towards the procedure. He books months out, but you can be put on a list so that if someone cancels, they will call you and potentially you can have your surgery sooner. That happened to me, I was scheduled for May, got a call and got in April 6th. Updated on 8 Apr 2023: Dr. Friedman will meet with you again and answer any questions. Sign a bunch of paperwork about risks and such, as well as a very detailed after care plan. You can still back out of the procedure if you want, he makes that very clear. He is also very adamant about how it’s a two person job, he does his job of the liposuction, you stick to the aftercare plan and together it makes a beautiful result! Then you will pay any remaining balance. He will take “before” photos of you, then meticulously draw the area he will be working within, more “before photos”. Change into paper gown. Staff was great at keeping you comfortable. I had to wear a paper shirt which they taped down across my clavicle, your neck gets wiped down with that iodine stuff, and blue paper/cloth will be put over your eyes nose and mouth (don’t worry, it’s very breathable)as well as outlining your chin/neck area. Dr. Friedman then injects a numbing agent, then it’s intermission till that kicks in. He makes an incision (didn’t even feel it) and starts putting in the tumescent fluid, then goes to work suctioning fat and fluid out. After that, he kind of pushes/massages any remaining fluid out of your neck/chin area, stitches you up, steri-strip on incision and you’re done! Nothing hurt, just uncomfortable. Reminded me of the dentist. My butt cheeks were clenched anticipating pain but it never really does haha! Worst part was the sound of the scraping? Ick. Dr. And the nurses have interesting conversations to keep you entertained all the while. Then they put that awful pad and head wrap on you and send you on your way with a copy of your paperwork, after care instructions and a barf bag (I guess some people get nauseous afterward..I had no problems) My appointment was at 3, I was out of office at about 5:45. They called in a prescription for Tramadol which we picked up on the way home. Kimmy the nurse calls you the next day to check on you. Updated on 8 Apr 2023: I had read previous reviews so I knew the head wrap and sleeping elevated wasn’t going to be any fun. Luckily we have an adjustable bed frame so that helped. I also took other advice from reviews and am taking Arnica, to hopefully help with brushing and swelling, as well as using one of those airplane travel pillows to sleep with wrapped around my neck it really helps! Trying to drink a lot of water, I think that will help too. Updated on 10 Apr 2023: Getting used to the head wrap. Nothing really hurts, just the incision site stings a bit because of the head wraps pressure on it, I think. So far results are better than expected. I’ll admit, while waiting for my procedure day I had second thoughts a few timesdue to things Dr. Friedman mentioned to me. Mainly my skin laxity being “just ok”, not great, but also now awful. Maybe I should go with newer technology with some some of “skin tightening” add on. But I’d go and look at his before and after a of people of all ages and weights and shapes and they all turned out great to me. I’d always come back feeling better, like I was in good hands and he really would do his best with the talent he has. I’m not entirely sure I believe how much of a difference it would have made either, honestly. I’ve had Smart Lipo which claims to tighten skin to some degree (did it? Couldn’t say.) , as well as Venus Legacy treatments on my neck and arms and that didn’t do crap. I could have gone the neck lift route and done a platysmaplasty, which would be more invasive, and cost more especially since you’d have to be under anesthesia. All things I would rather not do. I felt that chin lipo, one last time would be as far as I want to take this. Get hopefully 10 years or more to enjoy my results until old age gets me. Who knows what skin tightening technology they’ll have in 10 years, you know? Until then, I plan to use a massager, and neck skin tightening creams to delay any sagging due to age for as long as possible. Updated on 12 Apr 2023: Did my 1st check up with the doctor. He said results were better than expected which is exactly how I felt as well. He and nurse Kimmy, as well as Jin all showed me how hard I need to press to massage the scar tissue. I am to start massaging here on out until neck feels soft and stays soft for 24 hours. Could take months, everybody is different. Only 1 more week of wearing the head wrap 24/7 and sleeping upright! I am going to take the staffs advice of taking Tylenol extra strength 30 minutes before massaging, as well as another reviewers suggestion of using coconut oil so it’s easier to glide the massager on your neck, and Jin’s advice of laying with your head over the side of the bed, neck back, and watch a movie while you massage for 45 mins a day (straight, you shouldn’t break it up in intervals). Next check up will be in a month! I’m so excited about my new neck! I know there are much more important life changing surgeries out there than my silly neck, and that Dr. Friedman does such surgeries. However, waking up every morning and seeing my neck like it was really destroyed my self confidence and that in turn affected my life in a lot of negative ways. So, I would definitely count this as life changing! Updated on 15 Apr 2023: I guess because the weather is warming up the head wrap is more uncomfortable at night, makes me sweaty. I’m glad I didn’t get this done in the summer! Only a few more days left though that I have to wear it 24/7. I’ve watched some videos on lymphatic drainage and and doing stretches and massaging my neck using those techniques as well as the vibrating massager the clinic suggests. Definitely feeling less stiff when I move my neck around. Updated on 22 Apr 2023: Results seem fairly the same for now. Will continue massage and wearing headwrap for about 18 hours a day. Using Mederma and silicone bandages on incision scar. Headwrap seems to be a bit stretched out and Velcro getting worn, wish they gave me an extra one. Curious if there will be improvement in the shape with massage and time or if this is about as good as it’s going to get. Still happy with the great improvement so far! It was made clear to me that because of my jaw bone shape and age and laxity I would not have a super sharp jawline after this surgery as others may have. Updated on 19 May 2023: Visited Dr. Friedman for my 5 week progress check up, he seemed positive, we both know I still need to keep up massaging and it could take even up to 6 months for my neck to stay soft and for the scar to flatten. I don’t notice any lumps and bumps in artificial light and just normal standing looking straight/side to side, just when I tilt my head all the way back and in natural light. So I stand in front of the mirror by a window and use that light when I massage so I hit certain spots a little harder. I’ve had lipo in that area before, as well as Kybella so it’s possible it’s a contributing factor to the fibrosis. Most of these other reviews don’t mention what it feels like as you’re healing, so for me personally, sometimes you get little twinges/shock of pain (very small and quick), a heavy, annoying, tight feeling under chin/neck… massaging really helps though. Updated on 2 Oct 2023: Pretty happy with results. Definitely better than before. Maybe if I lose weight it’ll look better? I don’t know. I do wonder, like a previous reviewer did, if I had gone with someone who had more advanced tools with a skin tightening feature if it’d look better…. But I am also happy I don’t hate what I see in the mirror everyday anymore. Basically, I agree with what Dr. Friedman alluded to… if you are young with great elasticity in your skin, heck yeah 100% go for it, most likely have amazing results, if you are older and don’t have the best elasticity it’s gonna be a little bit of a crapshoot and you most likely won’t have that super sharp jawline that everybody wants and you also will have a scar. It’s not a terrible scar but at 6 months it still is visible (or at least by me). That said, I have no regrets and am happy with my decision!!
Finally booked my appointment for extended chin lipo with Dr. Friedman in Plano, TX. I thought I would start documenting my journey a little early and make a post about my thoughts and why Im deciding to go through with this. I've always had a round baby face that included a genetic double chin (even at my lowest weight when I did sports all through high school and when I was broke and starving in college). I don't mind having a round feminine face but I can't stand my double chin and jowls. I remember starting in middle school, I would jut my chin out or hide my chin with my hands during pictures. Because of hating candid photos of me, I barely have any pictures of me with my partner or with friends saved anywhere. I hate how insecure it makes me. Towards the end of high school, I remember seeing an ad for Kybella on TV and telling my parents "I need this! I want a jawline!" but they would just tell me to "lose weight". I started to do more research into "chipo" during my early 20s, had some consultations with some doctors in my area but none of them had any impressive before and afters of "chipo" or the starting price would be 5k. Around this time I found Friedman on RealfSelf and loved his portfolio, the raving reviews and especially the price but was too nervous about going out of state for surgery on my own. Fast forward a couple years when Covid hit, I realized how much I loved the fact that I could hide my face with a mask. I felt so much more confident with a mask on. Even now, when wearing a mask isn't expected anymore, I still feel so much more comfortable wearing it. I am now 26 and know that if I don't have this procedure soon I'll have to deal with lose skin complications later. I still complain about my double chin to my family and my partner and honestly I get annoyed with myself over talking about it so much also! Saving up the money has been a struggle and one of the reasons why I've waited so long but I'll be using Care Credit to help me out and pay it off over time. I put the deposit down and now have to wait until the day of surgery in anticipation. I'm so nervous and hope it turns out well. I fly into Dallas the same day as the surgery and will be leaving the next day. The stories on RealSelf have helped me feel so much better about going through with this. Updated on 2 Apr 2023: About 2 months left until my procedure! I’m so excited and nervous. The only thing I’m worried about is having to sleep upright for the first week and doing my massages correctly so I don’t get lumps during the healing process. Other than that m so ready to have this double chin be gone forever! Updated on 18 Apr 2023: Here are some of the before pictures I sent to Dr. Friedman’s office through email. I’m hoping to get more jaw bone definition and get rid of that little pocket of fat right under my chin. Every single day I wake up and look at my double chin thinking about how bizarre and out of place it feels on my neck. Contouring with makeup can only do so much. Even though I haven’t had the procedure yet, I still feel a weight has been lifted off my shoulders knowing it’ll be gone soon. Updated on 30 May 2023: Here are the candid photos that were taken of me this year at a party that made me commit to getting chin lipo. In this photo I was talking to my boyfriend having a great time. After I was sent these photos I felt like breaking down to cry and all I could think about was how awful my side profile looked. I feel so guilty for having something like a double chin affect my self confidence so much! About one more week before I head to Texas, I hope everything turns out okay and my flight/hotel reservation works out. I’ve never done anything like this before so I’m pretty nervous but I am so so excited at the same time Updated on 8 Jun 2023: In pain, head wrap really sucks, breathing is a conscious effort. My throat is phlegmy and swallowing is hard. The numbing is starting to wear off. Definitely uncomfortable at the moment. hopefully tomorrow is better. I have to sleep upright with my head all the way back tonight, then I can sleep at a slight angle for the rest of the healing process. Neck feels super tight when I try to tilt it back. To top it all off today is the first day of my period. Not sure if I’ll be even to sleep at all tonight. At least the neck pillow was a good investment! Updated on 9 Jun 2023: Feeling better today. Still very sore and swollen but I’m getting used to the feeling. Not sure what I was expecting but definitely feels like I had surgery! Threw up last night and this morning from choking on phlegm and coughing. Sleeping with my head all the way back was a challenge last night. Kept waking up to cough/spit so I got terrible sleep. Stole some yogurt and milk from continental breakfast. Chewing is hard but the yogurt has been perfect, now I can take my pain meds. Heading for the airport today but waiting for my follow up with Friedman before I leave Texas. Updated on 10 Jun 2023: Feeling better everyday. Apparently I bled more than most patients which is why my bruising is pretty intense. Putting the head wrap on yourself is a challenge. I can’t seem to get it a tight as I had it when they put it on me in the office but at least I can chew and breathe right now. 5 more days until I have to start massaging the area. So far so good. Updated on 16 Jun 2023: One more week of wearing the head wrap for 24 hours! I’m so in love with the results so far. Starting to go crazy being stuck in my apartment with this thing on but it’s been so worth it. Updated on 19 Jun 2023: Neck is healing beautifully with no complications so far. The massages feel nice with the massager they recommended. I definitely recommend grabbing the massager, jojoba oil and a neck pillow for recovery. Everyone at the Friedman office has been very helpful and friendly! I’m getting very tired of wearing this head wrap but I’m pushing through. Updated on 27 Jun 2023: One more week of having to wear the head wrap for 18 hours a day. The wrap that the Friedman office provided me has these big safety pins that lay on top of your head tightly and they are super annoying. They’ve been rubbing and irritating my scalp and led to some sores. I now have one bald spot the size of a penny in one area that I’m not happy about. I took the safety pins out and sewed some bulky yarn in the area to keep the head wrap together instead. Hopefully that will grow back soon. Prepare for your hair to be messed up a majority of the time from this head wrap. Updated on 29 Jun 2023: The left side of my face has always been my “good” side. The right side of my profile has always seemed a little wonky to me. For my jawline, Ive always noticed that right side has been more “jowl-y”. Now that I’ve gotten my chin lipo I have more definition now but my jowl on my right side seems to be more apparent. Not sure if I should get a revision or not to solve it. Maybe Kybella would be a good option for that?? At the moment I’m just focusing on healing and seeing the final result. Friedman doesn’t make incisions behind the ears and doesn’t go above the jaw bone in case of injuring the nerve that effects your smile. I’ve seen some other surgeons include the jowl area when doing the procedure though which might’ve been better for my case. Updated on 30 Jun 2023: Very annoyed with this jowl nugget on my right side :( I keep hoping the massages will even everything out Updated on 7 Jul 2023: Starting to ease up on time spent in my head wrap. I didn’t wear it last night since it’s been causing me to snore badly but I’m basically at my 4-week mark. Friedman did say I could keep wearing it at night to help with any swelling. I can’t tell if my results are getting worse or if its just swelling but I feel like my jawline doesn’t look as good as it did a week post surgery. The jowl bit still annoys me so I’m going to point that out during my emailed check up. Hopefully this is all part of the healing process and it’ll go back to how it looked when I first got home from Texas. Updated on 28 Jul 2023: I’ve been noticing some platysmal banding and skin dimples on my neck. I heard about this being a possibility if the surgeon is more on the aggressive side when performing the liposuction. Friedman said his method is to “take all the fat out until there is none left” during our pre-op questions. Obviously this is better than my double chin but it is something I’ve been noticing in certain lighting. He also said my skin laxity was not the best at my age so maybe that is part of the issue? I’m about a month and a half post surgery and have been doing my massages everyday. I don’t wear my head wrap anymore to bed. My neck feels tight sometimes if I’m at work and it’s still sore in some areas when I stretch it. Updated on 9 Aug 2023: It’s been 2 months since my procedure so I thought I’d share my final thoughts on my chin lipo experience and Dr. Friedman’s office. Dr. Friedman’s team was very helpful through the whole process. Everyone there made me feel extremely safe and cared for and answered all my questions. Dr. Friedman was a very “straight to the point” guy and made me feel like I was in the right hands. The first two nights of healing after lipo wasn’t fun and traveling with my head wrap on was a little embarrassing but whatever! Once I got home the healing got easier and easier. The head wrap made me snore really loud since my neck was being suffocated at night basically. Now for my thoughts on my results. I’m so glad I went through with this procedure! I feel so much more confident knowing that my neck looks more defined. Although I love the improvement, I still feel like it’s not as “snatched” as I was hoping. Not sure if I would’ve had better results with a deep plane neck lift or by going to a doctor that used a traditional lipo suction machine with skin tightening methods. But the fact that I’m thinking of getting a revision in the future makes me feel like I should’ve waited and gotten more opinions. Regardless I’m glad I went through with it! Updated on 27 Apr 2024: Decided to take some pictures of my neck from a low angle today. I have gained some weight since I had my chin lipo about a year ago. The jowl fat on my jaw line is still annoying me. I’m hoping losing some weight will improve it but I’m considered getting a revision by another doctor in the future. I still have some slight numbness under my chin. On the bright side my scar is barely noticeable and my final result is still an improvement. But for my case, I wish I had gone to a doctor that suctioned along the jaw line from behind the ears.
I had chin lipo in Nov 2017. It turned out great in the end but I had a known but rare side effect of my lower lip not being able to move down. So that I couldn't smile and had a slight lisp. Dr. Friedman had not ever seen it before with his patients. He followed me closely with after care until we saw what he predicted that it started resolving. I'm doing this review now because I've gotten so many messages over the years asking me if it resolved because of the question I posted here when I was dealing with it.. Yes it fully resolved. It took several months to be completely back to normal. One side got better a little faster than the other. Within Six to 8 weeks it was good enough that I had function but my smile was still weird then better and better each month until it was totally normal.
June 21st was the day of my extended mini tummy tuck with no muscle repair. I also had liposuction performed on the flanks and abs to get more of an hourglass figure since I've always had stubborn fat that won't go away since I got pregnant. I only wanted to have my booty and hips stay and get rid of the fat that was making me lose my feminine physique. I love the work Dr Friedman does and the staff is very attentive and sweet. If you want natural results that make you look good without looking like you had something done, I highly recommend him! Just look at all the wonderful reviews there is on Dr Friedman. I had a breast reduction last year by him that look even better once everything settled in. I can't wait to see my final results. As of now, I am 5 weeks post OP today. Updated on 29 Jul 2022: Here are pictures that were taking after surgery. There's pictures 4 weeks post OP taken at the surgeon's office and there are pictures 5 weeks post OP I took yesterday at home. I'm very happy at how I'm healing and how the surgery scar is smoothing out. Dr Friedman hands are magic! Updated on 31 Jul 2022: It'll be 6 weeks post OP on Tuesday. I have purchased a "stage 2 faja" from a store at the mall in Hurst, tx at week 4 even though at the doctors office they gave me a new one. Both are in extra small. I like the one I purchased better because it's more comfortable, easier to put on, and doesn't leave marks. I've also been massaging every day with a Tim Tam percussion massager. Flanks are 30 minutes each side and I started on abdomen massaging for 45 minutes daily at week 4. I have a bump that looks like inflammation from the surgery and my sutures have loosened up a little. The color of the scar is lightening up with the silicone strip the doctor's office recommended. Everything is looking great! About to go on vacation to see my family in Miami Florida and it'll be right on time for me to get into the ocean! I don't think I'll see my final results til the 6 month mark but so far I'm loving my results. It wasn't much of a difference for others to see but for me it was all the difference I needed. When I get back from Miami, I'll be starting my meal prepping and going back to the gym to get the most of my results. Updated on 27 Dec 2022: I feel and look better than I did before I was pregnant. The contouring with liposuction and extended mini TT made a huge difference on how I feel and my clothes fit so good. Confidence is back! I also lost a couple more pounds which helped even more. Aftee the holidays, I will try to lose perhaps another 5 pounds to enhance my results. Here are the pictures of my 6 month follow up appointment. Updated on 17 Jan 2023: I lost some weight. Down to 135lbs. I was 145lbs prior to surgery and I came out being 140lbs immediately after surgery. Then I gained 5 more pounds because I couldn't workout for a while. Then I put in some work, started kicking my butt at the gym and I am down to 135lb. Trying to lose 5 more pounds but I don't really need to. I can enjoy crop tops now and I'm more confident. It may be harder to see results in pictures but I do notice them. They are subtle differences but I am happy that I can sit and not have a pooch anymore. Also, it isn't as hard to cut weight around my waist anymore either. Depending on water retention, I can see some ab definition better as well. Hard to see that here but it's there. I am back to pre pregnancy physique. Dr Friedman did my breast reduction surgery a year prior too and my breast have NEVER looked better!! With this weight loss, I've also dropped my breast size a tiny bit too so clothes fit better all around. My booty fits in size 7 jeans but my waist wants to be a size 5 like in high school, and I'm 41!
I would highly recommend Dr. Friedman. Wonderful experience overall and Dr. Friedman is an incredible surgeon. My surgery was a major life-changing decision. It was not easy for me and my family to make a final decision, but after consulting Dr. Friedman I immediately felt at ease and confident about the treatment. As expected, the outcome was very positive and impressive. The best part is Dr. Friedman gave me enough time to decide and he took enough time to analyze and study my health since I am diabetic. He prepared me well for surgery and made sure there would not be any post-surgery complications. I truly felt reborn with the results. The front office and nurse who assisted me was kind and ensured I had a smooth prep, surgery, and follow-ups never had any issues. I am short of words to Thank Dr. Friedman and his crew who assisted in my surgery and especially Jin Friedman for being compassionate and supportive throughout the process.
I would recommend Dr. Friedman to anyone! He did a fantastic job with the removal of a lipoma from my shoulder and is just the person you would hope for as your plastic surgeon. I was very concerned about my scarring and he took the time to answer all my questions and concerns in great detail. He is a perfectionist, extremely intelligent, and in the top of his field while still manages to have the most wonderful bedside manner. His office and staff are the absolute best around, don't waste any more time reading reviews and schedule an appointment to see Dr. Friedman!
First of all, I want to say I traveled from New York to Dallas for this Doctor and it was worth it! They were very responsive to all my questions and emails, always so nice! The care I got once I stepped foot inside the door was incredible! His staff were all very nice. His assistant Kimmy was such a sweetheart and very personable she even held my hand which was very comforting. This doctor take pride in his work and it shows. My results are life changing!
Dermal fillers can be useful in enlarging the lips, camouflaging a nasal hump, or treating deep acne scarring as young as age 18, the age of legal adulthood. Typically fillers are not used in a 20 year-old for facial wrinkles because you haven't had enough time to form significant wrinkles. I'm not aware of differing policies for minimize age at a plastic surgeon's office versus a medspa.
Your photos demonstrate the following improvements: 1. Improved breast symmetry (greater sag on the right than the left preoperatively). 2. Improved nipple areolar symmetry. 3. Improved nipple areolar position. 4. Improved upper breast volume. If you remain dissatisfied, I strongly recommend waiting at least one year before considering further procedures. It is much better to work on a fixed target than a moving one. Future surgery might include: 1. Placement of larger breast implants. This will provide greater breast volume, increased upper breast fullness, and improved cleavage. 2. Scar lightening. I do not believe that you will benefit significantly from further breast lifting.
1. Low dose Vitamin E (200 units daily) may have beneficial effects on health and should not delay surgery. 2. Moderate dose Vitamin E (400 units daily) may increase bleeding slightly but probably not enough to cancel surgery. 3. High dose Vitamin E (greater than 400 units daily) is associated with a significantly increased risk of bleeding, and surgery should be rescheduled.
Liposuction is very useful for reducing breast volume and reducing or eliminating "side boobs."It is usually performed as part of a breast reduction, which involves incisions around the nipple-areolae (to make them smaller and higher) and vertically and/or horizontally along the lower breasts to lift the breasts and remove excessive skin.Liposuction as a standalone technique is rarely used and is best for women who meet all of the following critera:1. The breasts have a reasonable amount of fatty tissue (and not just firm, rubbery breast tissue).2. The breasts have good skin tone (usually very young women).3. Only a small amount of volume reduction is desired.
A combination of neurotoxins (Botox or Dysport) and fillers (Juvederm or Restylane) will give you the best results. Botox/Dysport are useful for the glabella (between the eyes), forehead, and crows feet. Juvederm/Restylane are useful for the lips and the lower eyelids. Your nose does not require fillers. You can enhance your cheekbones with fillers, if desired.
