Is it normal to have leathery skin on a chemical peel? (Photo)

Hi Happyluv303, Thank you for your question. Yes, it is completely normal for your skin to become tight and feel rough, this is the normal process before the skin begins to peel. Eventually, all that skin with peel and new skin will be revealed. Keep in mind the healing time after a chemical peel can last a few weeks. Be sure to keep the skin hydrated with a good moisturizer and wear sunscreen/hat when outside. Good Luck!

Hello Happyluv303, this is absolutely normal! A chemical peel is a treatment in which an acid solution is used to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin. A chemical peel enhances and smooths the texture of the skin. It is an effective treatment for facial blemishes, wrinkles, and uneven skin pigmentation.  Peels exfoliate the outer layers of dead skin, revealing a new skin layer with improved tone, texture, and color.
So your skin will look worse the first couple days while it is shedding the skin and bringing forth that hidden pigmentation. But your results will be fantastic.
