Can a callous that formed on my bone after rhinoplasty be reduced with a needle shave?

My surgeon says he doesn't do it but that he has heard that it is a technique used by others. I'm wondering if this even works and if it is in fact a technique used to shave down the bone, or is rasping the only way?

A needle is not strong enough to shave bone. It can shave cartilage down though. The bone would have to be filed down with a rasp, but the procedure is quick under a local anesthetic.

Any cartilage can be shaved with a scalpel blade and any bone can be shaved with a chisel (osteotome) and /or a rasp. 
The procedure can be done under local and is quick.
 It will not effect the tip appearance in any significant way.

Hello! It doesn't tend to be effective for removal of bone. It's better for cartilage pieces since you're only using a needle. Some form of rasping is best.
