After rhinoplasty surgery, steroid injections are only indicated in the lower 1/3 of the nose, usually in the supra tip. Since the skin of the bridge is thin, steroid injections could result in visible edges of the cartilage graft becoming visible. Thank you for this question. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph
Hello and thank you for your question. When steroids are injected with good technique and appropriate timing, they are extremely safe. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Having cartilage grafts it’s not a contraindication to having steroid injections if that’s what you’re asking. In my opinion, steroid injections are overused and give little real benefit in rhinoplasty surgery. The injections of anti-inflammatory steroids have potential undesirable side effects, and they use these medication should generally be avoided.Different providers will have different opinions on the subject.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
