It's totally safe to do! The only thing I warn patients of is that because of the drainage patterns of the face, it is possible that you may have more swelling/bruising around the eyes/nose/cheeks area than someone who only had one of those procedures, but there is no inherent contraindication to doing all of them together.
In our Practice we often combine multiple facial cosmetic procedures provided patient is a good candidate. I suggest you discuss your options with a Board Certified PS during your consultation.
Thank you for your question. Rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty can be combined anytime a patient is interested in both procedures. Yes definitely you can get both procedures done under one surgery.
I often perform lower and/or upper eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty in combination. However, the rhinoplasty procedure should be performed quite atraumatic to minimize periorbital edema and ecchymosis and not to decrease the healing capacity of eyelids.
Blepharoplasty and rhinoplasty under the same anesthesia: it is fine to have a blepharoplasty and rhinoplasty under the same anesthesia. Each of these procedures is relatively short, so the anesthesia time would not be excessively long. Since each may cause bruising and swelling of the eyes, doing it under one anesthesia will save two separate healing times. The cost will also generally be considerably less doing the two procedures under the same anesthesia as doing them separately.
Not only is it advisable, we would highly recommended so that you have one anesthesia with one recovery period. Since rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult procedures to perform correctly in the entire field of cosmetic surgery, It's very important to choose your rhinoplasty specialist wisely based on extensive experience
There are both advantages and disadvantages to having a combined procedures. There are a lot of variables to take into consideration. One of those is the amount of time under anesthesia. This also correlates with the type of anesthesia used. For general anesthesia surgery it is generally desirable to keep surgery to less than six hours though there’s no exact time cut off rather a spectrum.Excessively long surgeries can increase complication rate.Having multiple general anesthetics also has a cumulative increased risk that should be considered. There is often potentially substantial cost savings with combining procedures, because of efficiency, when doing combined operations. The overall stress on the body needs to be considered as well. Highly invasive operations should be more as restricted compared to less invasive small complex procedures.Rhinoplasty surgery combined with blepharoplasty surgery seems very appropriate and probably some thing must plastic surgeons would consider doing during the same anesthetic.I think plastic surgeon would recommend doing these as a single procedure. If you have a provider, then I suggest reaching out to him or her regarding any concerns or questions you may have about potential upcoming surgery. It’s far better to schedule a second visit with follow up questions then to worry about uncertainties before your procedure. In the end, I believe two variables stand out as being the most important when it comes to consistent quality high satisfaction outcomes when it comes to cosmetic surgery. Those two variables are understanding your own candidacy for the procedures proposed, and the second being provider selection.Choosing a provider can have a Normas impact on the overall success and satisfaction of having a scheduled elective surgical procedure. Patients often do not grasp the difference in skill and experience available among providers will have equal certifications. The best suggestion or advice I can offer is to have more consultations before scheduling surgery then you may think necessary. The best way to confirm you’re in the hands of the ride provider is to have as many in person consultations as possible before your schedule your procedure.I’m going through multiple consultations you’ll become a better informed consumer and will have a better shot at choosing the best provider for your needs. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolios and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of the previous patient with similar characteristics to your own. An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you the before, and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. Being shown a handful of pre-selected images, representing the best results of a providers career is insufficient to get a clear, understanding average results look like in the hands of each provider, or how many procedures, any one surgeon has actually done.Familiarize yourself with what quality before and after pictures should look like. Take careful notes during each consultation, especially regarding the quality and quantity of before and after pictures.Generally speaking, there isn’t much patience can do regarding the rom candidacy for surgery. What patients do have control over his provider selection..The time to be critical of plastic surgeons is during the vetting process before scheduling the procedure.Best,Mats Hagstrom, MD
