Are there less invasive options that can minimize the appearance of a bony nose bridge? (photos)

Hello from Istanbul! A less invasive solution to a pronounced bony bridge is the application of dermal fillers. It could offer an improvement by balancing the surrounding areas. However, it's crucial to note that fillers have limitations. It would most likely not remove the bony appearance entirely and I would recommend against using it excessively. For a more lasting and tailored result, surgical intervention remains the gold standard. Based on your photos, a surgical rhinoplasty would give you the best result. But, it you are not ready for that, then a filler could be used to hide the bump some. The filler wouldn't make your nose smaller, but the side view can be made straighter. Be sure to see an expert injector for consultation.

Your nose is twisted, the upper portion is going to the left and the lower portion is going to the right. You will need the nose straightened which will require surgery. Fillers will only give temporary improvement, if that.

Hi , there are several techniques that can be done to address the nasal profile. It is better for you to consult with a facial plastic surgeon who can examine you and discuss the surgical procedure and the post op recovery process.

In person exam is essential. Based on the limited photos you appear to be a good candidate for Cosmetic Reduction Rhinoplasty preferably performed through a closed technique. I do not believe anything short of this ( non-surgical) can produce a desirable result--a more feminine, more elegant nose. I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS with a wide gallery of before and after photos- and review the details of the procedure during your consultation

Actually, I don't think of a rhinoplasty as "extreme." The problem with filler is that when you "camouflage" a feature by putting filler adjacent to it, you are putting something into the nose. And therefore something (like your nose) will look bigger. So you trade a bigger nose for less visibility of the edge or prominence of some natural nasal feature. I personally never liked the results. The good news is that if the filler is definitely absolutely temporary, and it is done with dexterity and planning, and too little is put in rather than too much, you can probably safely figure out whether you like it. But I don't recommend nasal filler to my patients or family.

Options for a prominent bony dorsum : The best way to treat a prominent bony dorsum is to trim it down, which can only be done surgically. There are other features of your nose which could be dealt with at the same time, such as a bulbous nasal tip. While filler is often used to make a dorsal hump look less obvious as a hump, filler makes the nose larger and fills in the indentation below the fore head where the nose begins, called the radix. This could make a nose look strong and masculine, like a Greek or Roman statue. this might look OK on a male but is generally not a very feminine or pretty look on a female. I

A closed rhinoplasty approach is less invasive then open rhinoplasty, and a closed rhinoplasty approach can accomplish shaving down the hump, minimizing the bulbous tip, and placement of spreader grafts in the midportion of your nose where it is concave. The concave upper lateral cartilages in the mid vault are concave, and that makes your hump look bigger than it really is, especially on the three-quarter profile. You also have very thin skin, so all this shows through. Digital computer imaging would be helpful to understand what can be accomplished with the procedure. In our practice, we do not recommend fillers placed in the nose for a variety of reasons.

Hi there! An option would be a non-surgical rhinoplasty. This would involve injecting filler above and below the hump to camouflage the area. The results can be nice. The risks are low but not zero. This may be a good option for you. Hope this helps!
