Does scalp micropigmentation on FUE scars blend with guard #1-#3?

Question

I had FUE hair transplant 2000 grafts. I am considering SMP to cover my FUE scars at the back. I wonder if it will blend with my #1-#3 guard length. Or do I need to keep shaving? Thank you

SMP, or scalp micropigmentation, is a painless procedure that uses highly specialized equipment and unique techniques to carefully and expertly inject all-natural, color-tailored pigments into the scalp creating a completely natural look of the patient’s hairline. A typical procedure involves an initial consultation and two pigmentation sessions to achieve the desired results. You can wash your head the fourth day after the treatment and, during that time, avoid any strenuous activity that will prompt undesired sweating. Once the procedure is complete, the results of a Scalp Micropigmentation treatment can last up to five years. 
SMP is usually appropriate for FUE scars. However, it is difficult to provide you with useful advice without photographs. Scalp MicroPigmentation or SMP is basically a tattoo that can cover the round white FUE scars. Many FUE patients have SMP for the scar.

We have done this for few patients with excellent results. not many develop this problem. There are few people that will need this services, but the ones we have done, they all have had excellent results. I believee we have to evaluate the scar first to be able to assess and be sure you do well with SMP. By the way, we have a technician who is expert in MP treatment. She has been doing this for other part of body including breast and skin of patients with vetiligo.

It is not impossible but it depends on a few factors. One being your natural hair characteristics. Also how spread was the pattern of extraction of your hair. The closer the extraction pattern will leave more obvious scarring and anything to camouflage will also be more obvious. The wider the extraction pattern the scalp pigmentation will naturally blend better with your surrounding hair and won´t be obvious.

SMP is a great tool to cover FUE scars, either guard #1 or #3. SMP on the scars will give the shade needed to camouflage the area. We helped many patients who chose to keep shaved head or grow the hair to #1-3.

Yes, a scalp micropigmentation cover would do nicely.  Most people adjust the hair length to maximize the value of the SMP
