Do I need to change IM injection site on run up to surgery because of scar tissue?

IM/SC injection of meds in glutes before a BBL? Can't seem to find info on this. Glute is my preferred injection site (for meds every 4 days). Not sure if unhealed scar tissue will effect my BBL

Thankyou for your query. While injections in gluteal area are generally safe, it is not a good idea to inject in the area for a couple of weeks before the procedure and for a few months after the procedure when it is to be done in the same area. The reason is the remote chance of introducing an infection before and after. It would be best if you could discuss your concerns with your Board certified Plastic Surgeon who can guide you with his protocol. All the best!

every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

It’s probably better to switch over to another area to inject for a while before and after the procedure. I suggest you discuss with your provider if you have one. If not discuss during the consultation.
