Answer: Loose skin or fat? Hello @Bbl1264, thank you for question and showing your pictures. From my perspective, what you see is excess skin, which is possible since liposuction or liposculpture does not address the problems that are generated after pregnancy, or weight loss that is too drastic, such as laxity of the skin, and diastasis recti, which is treated with a tummy tuck. I recommend that a new surgical plan be developed that meets your expectations to take into account that there is still tissue to improve with an extended abdominoplasty with a complete muscle plication. For more information and recommendations, it is best to consult with one or several board certified plastic surgeons. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.

Answer: Morpheus8 can help tighten loose skin after surgery. Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Loose skin Dear Bbl1264, I understand your concern. Based on your photos, it looks like you have loose skin. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Skin laxity You have skin laxity most likely from previous pregnancies and that since you were not a good candidate for abdominal liposuction in the first place. would’ve been a better procedure if you wanted a tight flat abdomen. If you pull on your skin with both hands until it’s nice and tight you will see how having tight skin improves the contour. What the skin tight you will also see the exact definition of the remaining fat. Loose skin looks and feels like fat people because it’s all bunched together. Separate the skin laxity component by pulling the skin tight and you will see what the underlying contour actually looks like. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
