Will an under boob ribcage tattoo be affected by a tummy tuck? (Photo)

I'm wanting to get an under boob, ribcage tattoo but plan in the future to have a tummy tuck I'm just wondering if it will be affected? It's just writing and not going to be very big and under my breast rib area.

The must significant pull on the abdominal skin during a tummy tuck is lower on the stomach.  The higher you go from the incision site, the less pull you get.  Since you are planning your tattoo at the very highest point, I don't think there will be any effect on the tattoo from the tummy tuck.

awakenblondie89.  Your tattoo may be displaced downward slightly after Tummytuck surgery, especially if your plastic surgeon aggressively dissects your upper abdominal region. If you are planning to have your Tummytuck in the near future, hold off on the tattoo until after surgery. Good luck.

question.  A tattoo under your breast will not be affected by a tummy tuck.   Based on your photograph, you are a great candidate for a tummy tuck
with liposuction.  This can be done
through a low and short incision, all completely below the bikini line.  The belly button can be designed to look
natural and have no scars on the exterior.  
Your muscles can also be plicated resulting in a flat abdomen.  Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.

The impact of a future tummy tuck will depend on location and how large the tattoo is.  Skin from the abdomen is pulled lower during a tummy tuck which could distort a large tattoo.  If the tattoo is small and high on the abdomen it shouldn't be impacted too much.

Thank you for your question.  You appear to be a good candidate for a tummy tuck based upon the photo that you provided.  As far as the tattoo is concerned, a tummy tuck requires that your board certified plastic surgeon pull down on your abdominal skin in an effort to remove all excess skin, tighten up your abdominal muscles, and achieve a flatter abdominal contour.  It is possible that depending upon the exact placement or height of your tattoo that following a tummy tuck the position might appear lower than it had been before surgery.  The higher you go towards the breast crease, the lesser the chance of tattoo position distortion.  I hope that this helps!
