Steve Merten, FRACS - Account Suspended

I recently underwent a Breast Augmentation and Lift with Dr Steve Merten at Pure Aesthetics. I truly could not be happier with the result.

Leading up to the surgery, I was very unsure about the size recommendation from Dr Merten to achieve my desired look, however I decided to trust his experience and went with it. And the end result, wow! I’m so glad I did!

The size, shape and overall feel of my new breasts are perfect. My scars are healing incredibly well and my post op care from Dr Merten and his team has been second to none! I am extremely happy and cannot recommend Pure Aesthetic more highly!

I had a breast reduction 5 days ago ago, and I am already seeing the benefit in my neck and shoulders! Staff have really lovely and encouraging once I made the decision to go ahead. I did a decent amount of research and Dr Merton looked like a good fit cost wise and location for me to travel to from our regional town.

Steve was very precise preoperatively to make sure that he got the best result for me.

Very thorough with helping me understand how and what was involved, and I can easily contact him with concerns and very happy for questions.

The Anaesthetist was literally the best I've ever had/ worked with, pre-empting my pain relief needs, and checking on my nausea which I don't often get with anaesthetic. He also then called me personally the 2 days post op, which helped me understand what no other Dr has explained to me properly before, in which my body over reacts to pain. And because these two dr's have worked so closely together, they complement each other perfectly allowing their patients to have better surgical experiences.

While I still have pain, particularly around the sides, I'm already seeing the difference in terms of neck and shoulder tension! What a difference!

great experience, helpful staff, Dr Merton was so precise. Answered all my questions post op, always replied to emails promptly, and were genuinely happy for me. Due to my medical history, Dr Merton was quick to insist I had my operation at Macquarie Uni Hospital where there were critical care services if needed (they weren't).

My anaethetist, who's worked with Dr Merton 20 yrs was the best anaesthetist I've ever met! (and I work in health) checked in on me even after I went home. Genuinely caring doctors. Thanks for making my experience a postive one.

Highest quality care and results, Dr. Steve Merten and his team were amazing in performing my breast reduction surgery. From start to finish, the surgeon, anaesthetist, nurses, and the Pure Aesthetics team appreciated my needs and vision, and I felt very comfortable, well informed and relaxed in their capable hands.

The recovery was very smooth sailing, and the results were better than I could have imagined. I was very pleased and surprised about how pain free the experience was, and how they looked with minimal scarring. I immediately felt the relief from the weight off my chest.

Dr. Merten is a great surgeon, is very down to earth and has a great sense of humour. He put my needs first and simply detailed the surgery and recovery. I'm very pleased with the results, and this is the happiest I’ve ever felt with myself and my confidence. Would recommend Dr. Merten 1000 times over for anyone who is thinking about breast reduction surgery.

My abdomen and skin were so damaged after 2 large kiddies. I researched for 5 years and always ended up back on Dr. Mertens website, and i am very glad to say its one choice i will never regret. His approach, knowledge, experience and skill are all evident in my result and recovery and im only 2 weeks post op, cant wait to see the full results.

I underwent breast reduction surgery in July 2020 with Dr. Merten. I had been looking for the perfect surgeon for over a year within Aus & the USA. Dr. Merten was a clear communicator, lovely bedside manner (pretty funny too), and made me feel comfortable and confident in the procedure. My request was fairly specific in that I was very uncomfortable with the size of my breasts and that I wanted "as small as possible". I have gone from a 12DD down to a 10C, with minimal scarring, no pain (just some tightness) after the surgery, and full sensation of my nipples.The whole team at pure aesthetics was incredible from start to finish. I felt incredibly well looked after from the second I stepped in for my first consult and cannot thank Dr. Merten and his colleagues enough.

The whole experience from having consultations to the day of surgery and all the aftercare was just so easy and amazing!
The surgery itself was literally a breeze, I have had no issues regarding the healing process. Everything is healing perfectly.

I have been a patient of Dr Merten’s for over 2 years and in that time I have had 2 major and life changing surgeries. The first being FTM chest masculinisation (Top Surgery) in September 2018. From the very first appointment and during the entire process I found Dr Merten and his team to be professional, non judgmental, friendly and supportive during the entire process. Dr Merten was even happy to answer the phone on a Sunday morning and talk me through my concerns about wound care post op.
When I decided to have a body lift in December 2019 to removed excess skin after weight loss surgery Dr Merten was the only surgeon I considered. Again I received the same professional and friendly care.
The results from both surgeries are amazing with well placed incision’s and minimal scaring that have healed and faded well. Dr Merten treated me with respect and as an individual taking the time to listen to my goals, concerns and explained my options and answered any questions. I’m very grateful for the confidence I have in my own skin now and the support and results I achieved with Dr Merten and his team.

I had a radical abdominoplasty to remove an apron in my abdominal region. Dr Merten and his team ensured that I was fully informed and prepared each step of the way. Not only am I impressed with the results but I am positive that my rapid recovery from surgery was due to the quality of Dr Merten's surgery afforded through his knowledge, skills, experience and meticulous manner. I was anticipating an improved abdominal shape - but what I experienced went beyond this. To me , the surgery has been a life changing experience - I feel more confident and without the apron in the way I am able to touch my toes and jog without discomfort. Moreover I have felt very well looked after via the level of post surgery care by Dr Merten.

Dr Merten was very professional from start to finish and was surprisingly empathetic which is not my experience with other surgeons in Sydney. His team was very helpful and managed to get me in for an emergency appointment when others wouldn't. Dr Merten guided me through my second breast lift with augmentation with the kind of expertise that only comes with decades of experience. He helped me to make the right choice in terms of implant and I love my new breasts! The surgery itself went pretty seamlessly and I only needed painkillers for the following day. Dr Merten and the team checked up on me in the proceeding days and weeks and will continue to do so over the next year. I felt and still feel like I was in the best hands. Thank you Dr Merten and the Pure Aesthetics team for not condescending to me and actually making a major surgical process fairly painless.

I had a great augmentation with Dr Merten about 2 years ago. I am so happy with how they look now. Dr Merten was very friendly and professional and honest in discussing the options. After care was also really good.
