I have an upturned "pig" nose. My nostrils are really exposed and I'm looking to achieve more of a concealed aesthetic. As this is cosmetic, I am looking for some average quotes before I even begin to search for the right surgeon for me.
Answer: Relative Cost of Rhinoplasty Rhinoplasty prices vary greatly because the rhinoplasty procedure itself encompasses a wide range of techniques that can be performed to different extents. Therefore the cost range is pretty wide from $6000-$12,000. My recommendation is to first find qualified surgeons that are board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery or the American Board of Otolaryngology. Find one or two surgeons you trust, then compare prices between them. Factors that influence the price include: 1. Location - Will it be performed in a hospital with an overnight stay, an independent out- patient facility or a doctors office? 2. Type of Anesthesia - IV sedation or General Anesthesia? Will a board certified anesthesiologist or a nurse anesthetist be used, or an RN? 3. Experience and training of your surgeon. The best trained (and longest) would be a surgeon board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, but also consider American Board of Otolaryngology trained surgeons 4. Length and Complexity of Surgery - Tip Rhinoplasty only or complete rhinoplasty, open or closed technique, deviated septum repair,or breathing problems corrected, , how long, ?etc

Answer: Rhinoplasty Cost A cosmetic rhinoplasty can remove and reposition tissue in the nose for better aesthetics. Based on your photos I feel you would benefit from lengthening of the nose to "turn down" the tip aesthetic points and offer more concealment to your nostrils. This would be combined with suture refinement of the tip to rebalance the nose. These are big movements that are often intended to create subtle, millimeter changes to the shape of the nose once it heals. The thickness of the nose skin can affect the overall result, however, an improvement can be obtained for most patients.See link below for more info on rhinoplasty. Many of our patients travel from around Boston to the Albany / Saratoga Springs area to avoid the high costs of surgery in the city. In our practice, the cost would be about $7500 all inclusive of grafts, surgeon fee, anesthesia costs, and facility fees. A detailed examination will help delineate the best treatment. Consultation with a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery would be the next best step.

Answer: Average cost for cosmetic rhinoplasty In this particular region, the average cost for cosmetic rhinoplasty performed by someone with dedicated experience in this type of plastic surgery is about $7000-7500. Make sure you are not basing your decision on price alone - this is one of the most challenging procedures to perform correctly on a consistent basis. Approach with caution.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from nasal tip deprojection and nasal tip de-rotation to make your nose appear less upturned Cost varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
