Typically nearly every Abdominoplasty I perform includes liposuction for contouring, especially for the transition from the front to back flank area. It's extremely rare for me to do no liposuction with the tummy tuck. The areas I would need to assess really are your flanks, the transition from the front to the back which your hands are covering in the photo. Photos are great but do not replace a physical exam by your doctor. Good luck on your journey. - Dr. T
Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Based on the one photo provided, it looks like you do not have lower abdominal skin excess but rather some laxity in the upper abdomen. This could be treated with reverse abdominoplasty. Liposuction is an excellent adjunct to tummy tuck in order to improve contour.
Liposuction of the waist, pubic area will often compliment tummy tuck results. An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon is recommended to confirm this as well as to further discuss your options and expectations.
Hello marshburn14. Thank you for your question regarding whether you need liposuction along with your tummy tuck.Based on your photos, you do not need liposuction, but liposuction of the flanks can give you a more contoured and hourglass shape. The tummy tuck with muscle repair will be the star of the show, addressing the loose skin and tightening the abdominal muscles, which is especially beneficial after having children. The liposuction would be the cherry on top, helping to further sculpt your figure and enhance the overall results of your tummy tuck. It can provide additional contouring to the waistline, making your final results even more impressive.Good luck, and I hope this helps to answer your question regarding the necessity of liposuction with your tummy tuck.Sincerely,J. Dear marshburn14, thanks for sharing your picture, will be good to see more pictures both sides and front without your hands on, with this single picture seems like yes you might need Liposuction and Tummy Tuck combined and also Vaser to help with skin retraction. Make sure you go on consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Hope this helps and best of lucks. Dr. Luis Mejia.
Hello, the physical examination is the gold standard to decide but as I see from the photo you don't need liposuction as it looks like only skin excess. Regards.
Dear marshburn14,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, liposuction can sometimes improve the results of tummy tuck. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hello and thank you for your question,Based on your photo, you may not need liposuction. Schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Best wishes!
Thank you for your question. It is challenging to provide an entirely accurate assessment without seeing more pictures or conducting a physical examination. However, based on your picture, height, and weight, you could be a good candidate for a tummy tuck alone.Tummy tucks address excess skin and laxity in the abdominal muscles, common issues following pregnancy. Whether you need liposuction in addition to a tummy tuck - would depend on your specific body and your goals. Liposuction can help remove localized fat deposits and further sculpt the waistline, which can complement the results of a tummy tuck. Ultimately, the best way to determine what procedure(s) would best meet your needs is through a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon.
From looking at the photo above you can do a tummy tuck with Liposcution of 4-6 areas. The liposuction will remove excess fat from the upper abdomen that we will not be removing by cutting like the bottom. And I would recommend getting liposuction on the flank area top and bottom to create a nice waist line.
Thank you for submitting your question. We always suggest using a clear shower curtain to put between your bed sheets and your mattress to protect your mattress as you can be oozy after your procedure. You can also use puppy pads to protect your furniture as well.
