Is it necessary to buy a bed pad for after an extended tummy tuck?

Thank you for submitting your question. We always suggest using a clear shower curtain to put between your bed sheets and your mattress to protect your mattress as you can be oozy after your procedure. You can also use puppy pads to protect your furniture as well.

Hi there,Yes I would reccomend buying some "chucks" they are the same thing as puppy pee pads. Great option to protect your bedding in case you have leakage from liposuction incisions.Hope that helps and good luck!

After a ETT the surgeon usually placed a drain to collect the amount of lymphatic liquid your body will be draining, and in case your body bleed it will be insignificant. In any case, talk to your surgeon about your doubts and concerns. Good luck!

Buying pads can be helpful, but you could also use trash bags or an old towel. Most do not bleed from incisions and the drains collect the excess fluids.

You bring up a very valid point that I have never thought about before. Typically there can be some oozing after extended TT's. Usually, the dressings and garments absorb the drainage. I have never had a patient with excessive drainage that seeped through and ruined their furniture. That being said, if you are concerned about this issue you may want to invest in some bed pads just to be safe. Good luck with your surgery
