I am in my mid twenties and two years ago I lost 60 lbs. Prior to both my weight gain and weight loss I had a full face. I was known for having chubby cheeks. Now my weight loss has left my face deflated. My cheeks slimmed down but only in the middle of my face. Suddenly my cheekbones are super prominent. And I have this pouch of fat next to my chin that has this slightly droopy appearance. In addition to hollow under eyes and smile lines all of a sudden.
Answer: Fat grafting Firstly I would recommend a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon to examine your anatomy and discuss your options. Given your age, I would likely recommend fat grafting to your face to replace the volume lost with your weight loss.

Answer: Volume loss in the face after massive weight loss Thank you for your query. When there is significant “deflation” of the face at a young age following massive weight loss, I usually recommend a non surgical skin tightening procedure like HIFU or Thermitight along with volume replacement with autologous fat or injectable fillers. When the skin laxity is much more, a surgical face-lift may be required. Please find an experienced board certified Plastic surgeon who can examine you and help you with all your concerns. All the best!

Answer: How can I effectively treat volume loss after weight loss? Greeting @A_Z_U_L, I would recommend non-surgical treatments and the use of technology that provides solutions for volumizing the cheeks and butolino toxin for crow's feet. Your skin is too young for a minimal facelift. Non-surgical treatments such as Morpheus 8 or Facetite use radiofrequency energy that helps stimulate collagen production in the skin and ultimately provides improvement of structural features such as sagging jowls or marionette lines. These procedures also typically do not involve any fat loss. Be sure to talk openly with your physician about all available treatment options so that together you can decide what will work best and make a non-surgical protocol according to your goals and needs. Best of luck! Alan Gonzalez, MD, FACS. Answer: Face after weight loss At your age I’m sure you don’t need a facelift. Many doctors will recommend facial fillers or even fat grafting. I would find it hard to imagine that any of these are worth the cost since they require repeat injections. But if you want to try them it’s your decision

Answer: Volume Loss Treatment Hello, hope you are well. Thank you for your question! There are many, many options to restore volume and treat skin laxity after significant weight loss. Cheek augmentation ranges from dermal fillers to fat grafting to silicone implants. Skin tightening procedures are also sometimes necessary. Before embarking on your journey you should feel confident that you have attained a relatively stable weight that you are happy with. The exact plan should be determined with in-person consultation, but this can be a helpful forum to provide suggestions if you wish to share photos. Best,Dr. Tower
