Under eye ridges after Juvederm Volbella in tear troughs 1 week ago, do I need to dissolve with hyaluronidase? (photo)

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  Fillers often take 2-3 weeks to soften and mature as a result of absorbing water and I would recommend some light massage and more time before deciding on any additional treatment.  If you see little improvement over the next 1-2 weeks you can have Volbella dissolved with hyaluronidase which will restore your previous appearance.  Hope this helps.

You may still have some swelling which can last 1-2 weeks after your injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. It may take a series to dissolve. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

I would recommend that you give this another week (or two). You may try gently massaging the area. If time and massage don't help then yes, discuss having it dissolved with your injector. Keep in mind that it may take more than one treatment to bring you back to your baseline.

is a hyaluronic acid filler designed to enhance the lips. It can also be used in other areas off-label. Swelling is normal for 2 weeks after an injection. I recommend that my patients gently massage the tear trough area for 5 minutes at a time, 5 times per day, for the first 5 days. This will smoothen out any lumps and bumps. Final results are seen after 2 weeks. We have our patients return at that time to assess the results. More product can be used at that time if further enhancement is desired. Please

I would wait at least another week as you may still have some swelling from the injections themselves. You can then decide if hyaluronidase is needed. Even if the hyaluronidase is injected in small amounts, it is hard to predict how much of the filler it will dissolve so you may need to get treated again with filler. Good luck!

I have used a lot of Restylane under the eyes in the last few years.  I prefer to use a micro-cannnula for the safest and smoothest results.  The person who you pick to do your injections is the most important factor in ensuring an optimal result.  If you are unhappy with your current results, the filler could be dissolved with hyaluronidase.  It is usually best to wait a couple of weeks after injection to see if any bumps or ridges settle down.  In my experience, Restylane gives predictable results in this area, when combined with excellent injection technique.  Regards,Dr. Ort
