I do believe that mobile areas can cause Juvederm to go away faster, although it is not guaranteed. A good example is in the lips, where results tend to not last as long as other less mobile areas.
Results seen from filler that is placed in areas of high mobility (e.g. lips) will not last as long as filler placed in more static areas of the face (e.g. cheeks). This is because the muscular activity causes the product to spread out more diffusely over time from its desired location. If you purposely move your face with exercises, the results will certainly be shorter lived.
The Juvederm will be broken down at your body's natural metabolic rate. That being said, if you are moving the product in your lips and applying pressure there is a chance you could alter the product in the lips. All the Best.
Hi Amy. Doing facial exercises will not make the Juvederm filler in your lips absorb more quickly. Juvederm filler in the lips can last for as long as 6 months to a year and a half in some people. Your body will naturally absorb it. If for whatever reason you are not satisfied with your results then the filler can be dissolved with Hyaluronidase injections. Hope this helps answer your question.
There aren't any studies or evidence to show that this helps with the longevity for Juvederm.
The placement of the filler will affect duration that the product will last. Facial exercises have not shown to affect this rate.
Well, there seems to be some disagreement on this topic, no?Our experienced has been that fillers do not seem to kast in areas of more dynamic motion. That would suggest that facial exercises might affect longevity.Despite what you might have read on the internet or been told by someone selling facial exercises, there is absolutely no evidence that facial exercises or exercisers (have you seen the crazy masks with electrodes?) tighten the musculature of the face.I hope this is helpful! Take care, Dr. Clark
Hello amysuekat, Thank you for your question.Studies have actually shown that Restylane (similar to Juvederm) and other hyaluronic acid injectables do have varying levels of retention based on where they are injected. As suspected the lips are some the earliest places to resorb the product. It has not been proven but it is thought to be due to the motion associated with the mouth compared to the cheek lip grooves or cheeks for example.I hope this helps, Dr. S
Exercise of you facial muscles should not make the filler disappear more quickly. However if you compress and overuse your lip muscles that may happen
Only your body's metabolism, or hyaluronidase injections will make your Juvederm go away. Facial exercises will do nothing to make it absorb more quickly. Hello, Well I hope this is just a bruise. If it is a bruise then it will clear up within 2 or so weeks. Your picture could be more clear and I cannot touch the site, however, it appears to me that you may have an injury to the skin. I repeat that I am not 100% positive without...
Bruises do change color and shape as you heal. By applying traumeel cream to a bruise post injection you can decrease bruising. Avoid aspirin for 10 days prior to injection and a week afterwards. Tylenol is a good treatment for any post injection discomfort. Avoid hot places after an injection...
With any cosmetic procedure there is a possibility of complications and nothing is ever considered "impossible". I advice you to have an in-office follow up with the physician that preformed your Juvederm injection. If this physician does not want to have a follow-up with you and you feel like...
