I'm 19 y.o., normal weight, but I have excess fat under my chin that won't go away. What is the best procedure for me? (photo)

Hi Caaarmeeen,This fat can be resistant to diet and exercise.  So it is stubborn fat.  You appear to have localized fullness, and at the age of 19 you should have good overlying skin tone. I believe you would benefit from chin liposuction with or without chin enhancement (I can't tell from the photos). Be sure to see only a board certified plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon. Liposuction can be performed to target the unwanted fat in the neck. In a young patient like yourself the skin should tighten and take on the new slimmer contour. Recovery is usually about a week and can be done under local or with sedation.

The best advice is weight reduction, since this is usually effective when the fat excess is modest. There are some people who just accumulate fat in their neck without being very overweight. This seems to be familial. Since the skin of young people is elastic, it fills in the neck contour when the excess fat is removed. Liposuction of the area under the chin, mandible and central anterior neck is a procedure that produces pleasing results in this age group.  Older patients sometimes ask for liposuction under the neck, but they have reached the stage of tissue and skin laxity.  They pinch up the laxity under the chin and mistake it for fatty excess. If this patient is treated with liposuction, the skin may get wrinkly and the neck remains lax.  Although we do offer Precision Tx for these patients which can do some skin tightening, at some point facelift and necklift surgery is going to get definitive results

into the neck to help reduce the double chin. A series of injections will be
needed; some pain and swelling are reported in the clinical trials. We hope to

Simple liposuction of the neck can help improve and jawline and removal of fat deposits in the neck. This can be done under local anesthesia as an outpatient surgical procedure.

Based on your photograph you have a small amount of submental fat.  Since you're young and have good skin tone a conservative careful liposuction should improve this area.  IUs laser liposuction because of the additional benefit of skin tightening provided by the laser.

The most likely approach to getting the look you want would be with submental liposuction. This can be done under local anesthesia and has a short recovery time. You should look presentable after 5-10 days.
