How long after BBL can you start working out again?
Answer: Working out after BBL Thank you for your question. You may return to normal activities after 2 weeks. Light exercise after 4 weeks. You may return to any other activity within 3 months. I would advise you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for a detailed examination to discuss all possible treatment options and what your expectations are.

Answer: Exercise after BBL Thank you for your question. After a brazilian butt lift procedure patients can return to light activities almost immediately after surgery, normal activities 2 weeks after surgery, and vigorous exercise 4 weeks after surgery. We usually experience a slow steady improvement for 3 months or so after surgery. Best is to follow your specific surgeon's instructions as every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures.

Answer: Returning to Gym After BBL Always ask your plastic surgeon about specific activities and when they can be resumed after surgery. However, if you are asking this question hypothetically, my response is working out may increase the muscle mass and in turn improve the shape. I usually ask my patients to wait from 4 to 6 weeks, depending upon how the healing goes. As a bodybuilder, I understand the need to return to the gym, but healing should be far enough along to reduce the incidence of complications. As a board certified plastic surgeon, I advocate continued weight lifting and exercise after a BBL as long as you do not lose body fat. Keep an eye on your weight, and decrease the amount of exercise as warranted.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: How long must I wait to work out again? For my patients following surgery, they are placed in a compression garment to assist with swelling; this garment needs to be worn for four to six weeks, depending on their rate of healing and the individual person. There will be swelling and soreness of the buttocks area, and any discomfort the patient is feeling during this time can be relieved using prescribed pain medication. Sitting or lying on the back should be avoided for the first week or two after surgery, and cushions should be placed under the buttocks for several weeks afterwards, to avoid putting pressure on the buttocks while it heals. Patients should avoid sitting on anything hard, like a metal chair or wood barstool.Brazilian butt lift patients can usually return to work after two weeks, and resume exercise after four weeks. The results of the surgery are immediately noticeable, with the final results gradually appearing over time and shown in full three or more months after the procedure. Dr. Scott Ennis
