I had BBL 2 months ago. I am very unhappy about the very noticeable incision marks the doc left me with. I never see scars like mine here in the forum. Usually, they should be hidden somewhere discretely, shouldn't they? Was I botched?

Answer: Great question!! In our practice we try to put incisions in old scars or in areas that can be easily covered by underwear or shorts. This isn't always possible for a variety of reasons, but this is something tat we try to do. It is always a good idea to talk about scar placement with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon before the procedure so there are no surprises. Sometimes, during the case an extra entry site or two is needed and we often discuss this preoperatively with our patients and they know that we will do our best to keep the scars as hidden as we can given their anatomy and the individual circumstances of each case. People also scar very differently. Some patients develop keloids others scar so well that the entry sites are barely noticeable. As always, I would recommend discussing your concerns with your surgeon. I hope this helps!

Answer: BBL incisions No one is going to say it was a poor job. There are a multitude of opinions of where to place and how many incisions. I am of the school that there should be a minimum of incisions, the smaller the better and hidden in the Bikini line or axillas etc. whenever possible. The incisions you have should continue to heal and fade over time so I',m sure with your skin tones, they will look much better in the next 6 months.Best of luck.Dr T
