Hi! I am turning 45 this December. I am really considering getting a mini facelift. Am I a good candidate for it now?
Answer: This procedure restores a youthful look naturally and typically requires a shorter recovery time compared to a full facelift. While reviewing your photos can give me some initial insights, it’s important that I examine you in person to get a clearer understanding of your facial structure and skin condition. A mini facelift is an effective solution for addressing mild to moderate sagging, particularly around the jawline, cheeks, and neck. This procedure restores a youthful look naturally and typically requires a shorter recovery time compared to a full facelift. If you’re in your early 40s and noticing some subtle sagging, a mini facelift might be a great option for you. It’s crucial for me to perform a detailed evaluation to determine the best approach for your specific needs. By examining you in person, I can ensure we plan the procedure thoroughly and achieve the best possible results.

Answer: Face I would suggest micro-needling with radiofrequency to help tighten and prevent lose skin and wrinkles. Facelifts are best done without fillers present.

Answer: Chin implant I do not believe you are a good candidate for a mini face lift. You may benefit from a chin implant. That would tighten the skin on the neck. I also recommend no more fillers of the upper lip as it is over corrected and full already. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: 45 years old, am I a good candidate for a mini facelift? The pictures are very limited, but it does not appear that you're a candidate for any type of facelift procedure. In our practice, the goal of a lower face neck left is to tighten loose facial and neck, skin, lift the jowls, tighten loose facial and neck muscles, and remove fat deposits in the neck, which also includes a platysma plasty to significantly improve the jawline.

Answer: Getting a mini facelift I don’t see a really strong indication for facelift surgery. Your pictures are a little less than ideal to make equality assessment. Look at how plastic surgeons take before and after pictures to get an idea of what we’re looking for. We especially need profile pictures taken at correct angles Without turning the neck. Put your hair behind your shoulder to expose your jawline correctly. I’m not a big fan of a mini facelift. The procedure tends to have most of the drawbacks of a full facelift without all of the benefits. Ask providers to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients with similar facial characteristics. Bring quality set of pictures with you to use as a reference during the consultation. A facelift primarily treats jowls and neck laxity. To me, you appear to have a pretty good jawline without significant jowls. It’s important to get a good history of how people heal skin incisions before contemplating this procedure. If you have any history of hypertrophic scarring, then it may be wise to avoid surgeries that have long incisions invisible areas. To make a quality assessment, we need better information. I suggest you rely on in person consultations exclusively. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
