Hi, I am scheduled to get a breast augmentation in June (subfascial), but am planning starting a massage course mid September. Is that a reasonable timeline for recovery? Will it be a problem to lie on my stomach for hours at a time even with a specific breast pillow? Also, will the physical requirements be a problem? Sometimes giving massages can be quite physical with lifting/supporting various parts of the patients. Thank you!

Answer: Breast implants recovery time Thank you for sharing your question. Typically, after undergoing a breast augmentation, you can expect a recovery period of about 4-6 weeks before resuming regular activities. In your case, you should have around 3-4 months for recovery, which is generally enough time to heal. As for lying on your stomach for extended periods, you should consult with your plastic surgeon. Laying on your breast directly for long period can alter your results. Regarding the physical demands of giving massages, by the time you start your course in September, you should be well past the initial recovery period. It's always a good idea to listen to your body and avoid overexertion.

Answer: Recovery Yes four months of recovery should be adequate for you to fully participate in your massage course. Typically lifting restrictions are in place for about 6 weeks. After three months there are usually no restrictions. Your surgeon will advise you of her/his protocols for recovery.
