I want the ideal 1 finger gap after my breast augmentation. I know it has to do with your anatomy, so based off of photos would I be able to achieve the 1 finger gap after breast agaumentarion under the muscle? Thank you!
Answer: Minimal soft tissue envelope Based on these photos, you have very tight skin envelope and no existant breast shape since your breast tissue did not develop sufficiently. For that reason, it is going to be the implant which will ultimatelly dictate shape of your breast due to underlying anatomical conditions. In patients with tight skin envelope, it takes over 1 year for result to mature, skin and muscle envelope to relax. Using fat grafting, an experienced surgeon can, to a certain degree, further shape breasts like yours; it may take 1-2 stages of fat grafting to achieve good result. You should discuss these issues with your surgeon in detail before surgery. Hope this helps.

Answer: Implant placement Dear Genius188143, I almost always place implants submuscular. It lowers the rate of capsular contracture significantly. In addition, it looks much more natural because the muscle provides covering over the implant so its not as round on the top. I've also noticed the implants drop less over time when they are protected under the muscle. Answer: Cleavage The submitted photos show widely spaced breasts. Implants can help to give more volume and can make the gap a bit smaller, but a "one finger gap" is not a likely result. I encourage you to meet with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to discuss your goals and learn more about your options and what you can expect in terms of results.

Answer: Gap No, your breasts are spaced too far apart for such a small cleavage, but with implants, your gap will be much less.

Answer: Maybe; An in person consult would be helpful to discuss cleavage and what is possible I recommend an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and be measured. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author.
