I would like to drive to visit my family which will be a 5 hour drive. I'm wondering if this is going to be alright just 2 weeks post-op from having breast my breast implants? I've been driving myself and am feeling alright -but wondering if 5 hours will be overdoing it? I'm not taking any narcotics/meds for pain anymore so I'm clear-headed

Answer: Long drive 2 weeks after breast augmentation Thank you for your question. If you are able to do all of your normal activities of daily living and are currently driving to work, etc. without difficulty, it should be no problem for you to make this drive. However, without knowing your exact history, you should speak to your surgeon, just to make sure that there were no specific contraindications to you driving this far at this stage in your recovery. Best Wishes and Happy Holidays!

Answer: Driving after breast augmentation The first several days can be very tender with pain and my thought is I do not want a patient to have a wreck and possibly injure someone due to the fact she could not properly drive because of the limitation due to pain. I tell my patients they can drive when they are off pain medication and feel comfortable driving. I have many patients that return to work the 3rd day after surgery. I think at 2 weeks a 5 hour drive will be doable…but you might have increased tenderness after the drive especially the morning after. Best of luck!
