I stretched my arms above head, felt sharp pain in nipple. What could it be?

I am a little over 2 weeks post op, everything is going great but this morning I stretched my arms above my head while waking up without realizing it. I felt a very sharp pain in my left nipple. It went away after a few seconds but scared me. I called my ps and he said to take it easy and see how today goes. Just wondering what kind of damage that can cause. Or could it just have been from stretching the nerve? Because my nipples have been raw and overly sensitive for the past week.

At 2 weeks after breast augmentation you can have sharp stinging pains along with burning and dull throbbing pains. I agree with you PS to take it easy and call back if it worsens.

After breast
augmentation there can be a significant amount of stretching on the nerves in
your breasts.Depending on the size of
your implants and your original breast size the amount of stretch can be quite substantial
and can take a while for the nerve to adjust to its new position. This
can lead to nerve pain. Gentle massage of
your breasts and giving the nerve time to recover (6 months to a year) is the
best way to relieve this pain and sensitivity that you have been experiencing. Should your discomfort become worse you should
follow up with your plastic surgeon.
