Breast lift going back to sagging, why? (Photo)

Unfortunately, sagging can return even if the lift was done properly.  It looks like your surgery was done well.  however, every patient is different and loose skin can occur after this surgery. It is fairly easy to remove more skin and sometimes this procedure can be done under local.  Please talk with your surgeon who will be able to help you best. 

Without pre-op photos- it's impossible to comment accurately. Generally speaking the so called "lolipop" lift does not remove all of the sag. Combine that with implants and you will predictably sag again. 

After a breast lift, the breasts are snug and the implants perky, but in many women, the implant drops down with time and the skin stretches out to some degree.  We call this "settling". It occurs is some womento a greater degree than others.  Sometimes it requires a revision and sometimes it needs to be converted to the anchor type lift.

Your photos suggest that the breast tissue has not been tightened enough and as the swelling resolved, the breast tissue sagged. Dear Norma,An augmentation and lift relies on the breast pocket for implant support and the breast skin to support the breast lift shape.  Therefore, after a breast augmentation and lift both the implant can shift downwards and the breast tissue can shift downwards.  Re-tightening of either the breast pocket and/or breast lift can help retighten the breast augmentation lift shape.All the best,Dr. Remus Repta

Thank you for submitting your photos and question.  The photos without clothes  demonstrate the loosening of your skin at 11 months, particularly on your left breast.  Unfortunately, a lift is only as good as the material used (your skin).  If the skin has great elasticity, the results of a lift may last for many years.  If the skin elasticity is suboptimal, the results of a lift may seem to only last for a few months before loosening.If you feel your breasts have loosened too much, a lift may be repeated quite easily lifting them back to their original position.  In my experience, secondary lifts tend to hold better than the first lift, since the skin has already gone through the majority of its stretching out.

Hi Norma. From the photos you sent it looks like either the implants are dropping or your breast tissue is falling down over the implants. This is happening more on the left than the right. This can be fixed, but will involve a surgical procedure. If it's an implant issue your surgeon can do some internal suturing to support the implant. In addition graft tissue can be sewn along the bottom to better support the implant. If it is an issue with the breast tissue and skin it make require a modification of your lift involving adding a scar along the bottom of the breast. I suggest you see your surgeon and share you concerns. If you don't feel comfortable with the answer get a second opinion with someone with a good reputation for breast surgery. Good luck.Dr J

All breast lifts with augmentation undergo swelling and the immediate post operative look is not the "real result" ,that is why ,in my practice. we like to wait at least 6 months before taking the after surgery photos.You are now over 7 months after your procedure ,the extra fluids have left the breasts  and what you have now are  the breasts which are  in their final form. Just remember no lift last for ever and it is very much technique dependent .

The longevity of any lift is a function of the laxity of the skin and breast of the individual.  Unfortunately your tissues appear to be lax and like a tennis net may need to be tightened againDr Corbin
