Muscle spasms after 5 year tummy tuck?

Great question. It is unusual to experience muscle spasms as a result of a tummy tuck procedure 5 yrs post op. I will suggest visiting your primary provider for further details.

Muscle spasms early after a tummy tuck are not uncommon.  Muscle spasms at one year after a tummy tuck are very unusual.  Abdominal muscle spasms at five years after a tummy tuck should be evaluated and diagnosed by your primary care physician.  Because of the unusual nature of abdominal spasms being related to a 5 year old tummy tuck, it is likely that your PCP will call on other specialists from varied fields of medicine to help diagnose your irritating symptom.

Thank you for sharing your question.  Although uncommon after 5 years, muscle spasms can occur. I would talk to your surgeon to get the best advice.

muscle spasms after tummy tuck can occur but most of them resolve after some time. You should have no spasms 5 years after tummy tuck. There is a chance that they are not related to your tummy tuck. I suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon aa well as your PC doctor.

Thank you for the question. Muscle spasms after tummy tuck are very common, but not 5 years later. After one year, I would not expect this to be an issue for you. I would suggest that you follow up with your primary MD and possibly get a physical therapy evaluation. Muscle-skeletal problems may be due to many factors, but most likely, not due to your tummy tuck that was 5 years ago.Good luck.

Muscle spasms are not uncommon during recovery from a tummy tuck.  However it is not typical to have them five years after surgery.  I recommend a visit to your surgeon's office for an examination.
