How common is it to feel too big after breast augmentation?

I am 2 days post op from my breast augmentation. I am 5'4" 115lbs starting at a 34a cup with a bwd of 12-13cm. My PS ended up using 295cc natrelle inspira round silicone implants on both sides. I know I am just at the beginning stage, and I thought I prepared myself for the swollen and high look, but I feel verrrrry large right now. My question is, how common is it for patients to feel way too big in the beginning? Is this a good sign that I feel too top heavy right now?

Don't worry, you are definitely alone in how you feel. It's too early to know at this point what your final outcome will be. There is still a lot of swelling this early. It's quite common for women to feel too large after surgery and in my opinion those women are the ones who are usually happiest once the swelling goes down and the implants settle into place. Give it a few months and you will probably be very happy. Hope that helps!

Thank you for your question. It is not uncommon to have swelling. When the swelling goes down you may not feel as large as you do in the first few weeks. Breasts may not heal at the same rate, causing one breast to appear different than the other. It can take up to 12 weeks for the implants to settle and you to see the final result.Give it time! Follow up with your board certified surgeon to address your concern. Good luck!

Hi Cozypeach27!  Hang in there because it is still new and early, and you will have a lot of emotions after surgery.  This is normal; take it one day at a time, and allow them to heal.  Odds are if you feel that they are a bit too big now, you will love them in a few months.  They will change dramatically during this time frame, so follow the instructions from your surgeon and remember one day at a time!
