I’m currently 149. Before my pregnancy I was 135-140. I want to get to 140 before the surgery but I’ve been maintaining my weight the last two months my son wakes up 8 times a night and I’m so over tired! when I get him on a better schedule I’ll be able to work out more. If I don’t make it to my goal would by my surgery date will it effect my results to do it after the surgery?

Answer: Weight loss before TT Dear Eeeekitserika, generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a tummy tuck, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Weight loss after tummy tuck Thank you for your question. Ideally it is recommended that you reach your goal weight before undergoing a tummy tuck. You should consult with your surgeon on what they believe is the best course of treatment for your specific situation. Good Luck.
