Having a tummy tuck now will not interfere with your ability to have successful pregnancies in the future, though you may lose some of the benefit when the skin stretches out again. For most patients with the degree of weight loss that you have accomplished, it probably makes sense to do the tummy tuck.

It's a good question and you bring up some important issues.If you feel that the excess skin is interfering with your self-esteem, activities, and lifestyle then it may be a good idea to pursue a tummy tuck now. As you mentioned, pregnancy in the future may restretch some of the skin of your abdomen. This could lead to the possibility of wanting a revision in the future, but this is difficult to predict. You may not desire/need a revision.If you decide to have a tummy tuck now and you haven't had children, you may not need a muscle repair. This makes the recovery from a tummy tuck surgery easier. Of course, only an in-person examination can help your surgeon decide whether a muscle repair would provide you with any additional benefit.Make sure to visit a board-certified plastic surgeon in person. They will be able to examine you and discuss the pros and cons to having the surgery now, so that you can decide how to proceed.

Safe pregnancy after tummy tuck is possible, but I would suggest that you complete pregnancies prior to tummy tuck surgery. As you can imagine, it is impossible to predict exactly what changes will occur ( after pregnancy). Pregnancy after abdominoplasty may cause CHANGES that MAY require further surgery to correct. Having said the above, if you are not planning on pregnancies in the near future, it may make sense to undergo tummy tuck surgery now (and hopefully enjoy the outcome of the procedure for many years). Just keep in mind, as mentioned, that a revisionary procedure may be necessary after pregnancies are completed.Generally speaking, the “ideal” patient for tummy tuck surgery is one who has completed pregnancies, is psycho socially/emotionally/financially stable, has an excellent social support system surrounding him/her, is capable of arranging enough recovery time, does not smoke and who has reached a long-term stable weight. Hello. That is a very tough question. You are very young with many decisions ahead of you. If your abdomen is affecting your lifestyle and self-esteem, surgery can help. Abdominoplasty, aka tummy tuck, does correct the damaged muscle wall, excess skin, and stubborn fat. If you have a tummy tuck now, and had children in the future, there is a chance that you would need revision after your last pregnancy. The skin and muscle can stretch out again due to pregnancy and/or from weight gain. It doesn't mean you will have to have a revision though. The damage after pregnancy might be subtle and might even not bother you. Hope this helps! Good luck to you.

Congrats on your weight loss!For patients like you, it is very reasonable to do a skin only tummy tuck to help with the skin apron.  Whether or not you would need another tummy tuck after kids depends on several factors - the size of your babies, the amount of weight you gain with pregnancy and your skin tone.  There is no reason to endure the excess skin for years and years while waiting to complete your family.

I am sorry to say that there is no straight forward answer. Great job on the weight loss by the way. I can tell you that a tummy tuck or
abdominoplasty would allow you to look good in clothing. I have a number of patients who have become
pregnant after a tummy tuck and they have done well. They kept their weight down during their
pregnancy and that really helped them regain most of their tummy tuck form from
before getting pregnant.

Make sure you seek out a surgeon who embraces a NO Drain,
rapid recovery technique so that you can get back to your regular life as soon
as possible. It sounds like you have
your hands full with 2 young children.
