I bought this gravity chair after seeing other people's stories on their tummy tuck. After bringing it home and trying it out im not sure if it's quite what I have in mind to spend most of my time and to sleep in. I did find a used chaise that I am very much interested in purchasing instead. Any advice on what you think will be the most practical, a chaise, a gravity or sunbathing chair, a recliner? I was thinking the gravity and sunbathing chairs seem low to the ground which would be difficult.
Answer: What do you recommend to sleep in while recovering from tummy tuck? That looks like a great chair to sleep on while recovering from a tummy tuck procedure. You should receive specific instructions from your chosen surgeon. Regards

Answer: What to sleep on after tummy tuck surgery? Many of my patients sleep in recliners, they are comfortable and provide elevation for the knees, however you can use extra pillows to put under your knees. The gravity chair you show looks like it might be hard to get in and out of and might not be very stable (or comfortable for sleeping). Good luck!

Answer: Sleeping advice after tummy tuck surgery Thanks for your question. Generally speaking I ask patients to sleep in a somewhat flexed position (think bent at the waist) to minimize the tension on their closure for the first 1-2 weeks. This can be accomplished by positioning pillows below your knees and behind your back to help you sleep in a slightly upright position. After these initial guidelines, patients can return to their normal sleeping position. Certainly you can purchase a special sleeper for this recovery period although I think using what you already have is certainly doable!

Answer: Sleeping Post Op TT Hello and thank you for reaching out. I would suggest a recliner for post op sleeping, typically a 45 degree angle is best for how your body will be positioned and hunched over for the first couple of weeks. Check with your surgeon to see if they have a specific suggestion. Best Wishes.

Answer: Sleeping position post tummy tuck I recommend my patients to sleep in a recliner. It is the most comfortable and also helps keep you sleeping upright enough to prevent swelling. I do not think you will find that gravity chair very comfy, nor easy to get in and out of. I suggest getting a recliner, preferably one that has a remote control to lower and lift you. Visit the websites for Aarons and Rent-A-Center for power lift chairs.
