Basically i had a rhinoplasty 3 months ago, and now most days i find it hard to breathe through my nose, it feels stuffy. Sometimes it even wakes me up or keeps me from falling asleep. I have scheduled an appointment with my doctor but what can i do in the meantime to breathe better?

Answer: Nasal obstruction after rhinoplasty Nasal obstruction after rhinoplasty can be multifactorial. One reason is that you may have allergy that is causing swelling of the nasal tissues and this is usually not related to any surgery performed on the nose. The other however could be secondary to weakening of the nasal structure from removing too much cartilage or not reinforcing your existing cartilage at the time of surgery. Either way you should see your rhinoplasty specialist to better determine the reason for your symptoms. Best of luck.

Answer: Can't breath after rhinoplasty I would definitely keep your follow-up appointment so that your surgeon can evaluate you. In the meantime, you may consider over the counter treatments for nasal congestion such as decongestants, nasal saline, and OTC nasal steroids. Good luck!
