Tried on sizers. Liked the 450cc. PS explained that with my very small figure, a 12.5BWD, and no tissue i would need to go hp. 450cc did not seem large at all when on my body. According to the mentor silicone brochure, a 425cc hp would be the max on my body. My PS said he won't go more than 450cc. which is fine because I don't want to be huge. Maybe a large C/ small D. My problem arises when I see others very close to my stats getting way smaller cc's and look huge. Is 450cc going to be massive?
Answer: 450 cc implant A 450 mL implant on a frame that is 5 foot 11 should likely result in a breast that is in the full c to small D cup range. However this will vary based on the amount of breast tissue that you have to start with. Also, you have to keep in mind that initialpostoperatively it will seem like a huge change for you given that you have an a cup at the present time. Also when you choose a larger implant size you will get a result that is more of an augmented appearance when you don't have a lot of breast tissue to start with.

Answer: # breast augmentation sizing.. Hello sunnycaligirl8034. Here's my 2 cents on sizing:1) My philosophy includes guiding patients to explore reasonable options for breast implant size, usually two to three similar sizes, which allows the patient to visualize how different volumes affect their breast cup. 2) The best guide for a final breast implant size recommendation is derived using measurements from the patient’s own breasts and chest. 3) When measurements are considered then options for sizes can be presented. 4) I use the Mentor Volume Sizing System of breast sizers to demonstrate how these different volumes will look on a patient’s body. 5) This methods offers good reliability and is simple to use, but is not perfect. In your case, a 425 and a 450 cc are similar. If you're small figured lady then these are likely to look bigger than average on you. However, there's no way to predict. I only do surgery after the patient has had plenty of opportunity to trial and compare sizers in the office and there are no reservations.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

Answer: Is 450cc too huge on a 5'11" 117lb small framed body? Currently a 34aa with no sagging and literally no tissue. BWD 12.5 Thank you for the question. Unfortunately, despite your good description of body type, online consultants will not be able to provide you with specific enough advice (regarding specific breast implant size/profile) to be truly helpful. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery (regarding breast implant type/size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. In bra sizers can be useful communication tools also. For example, I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "large C or small D cup" or "massive" etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. The use of computer imaging may be very helpful during the communication process. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery ( after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers). I hope this, and the attached link (dedicated to breast augmentation surgery for petite patients), helps. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Implant Selection Thank you for your question. It is much better to accurately discuss implant volume and projection with an in office exam and detailed measurements. In order to make an accurate size recommendation, I would need to assess your chest wall and breast mound measurements/characteristics. I use these measurements to help me during the sizing process to guide you to a safe result for your chest wall and just as important, one that meets your end desires. The next step is to try on this range of implants in the office with your doctor. The key to this success is showing your surgeon the body proportion you desire with a bra sizer and allowing your surgeon to guide you to the right implant. It will be much easier to communicate in implant cc's than cup size when determining the appropriate implant for you during the sizing process. In addition, review of photos and use of rice bags can be very helpful to the patient and surgeon in achieving a safe and happy result. Close intereaction and involvement from your surgeon during this process can help alleviate the anxiety and fears of choosing the right size. I wish you a safe recovery and fantastic result.Dr. Gill
