Yes, on occasion the results of gynecomastia surgery are not acceptable to a patient.l Realize that revision or secondary surgery is always playing catch-up -- the best chance for a great result is the first procedure.Revision may require additional fine liposuction of the chest and/or gland excision under the nipples. Sometimes, too much tissue has been removed which leaves a crater deformity. These are challenging cases but oftentimes the crater can be reconstructed with adjacent tissues. Sometimes there are poor scars -- and often they can be improved through scar revision. And sometimes there is just some scar tissue (often under the nipples) which may require only a cortisone injection.You are best advised to seek the opinion of a gynecomastia expert in your area -- or consider traveling for such expertise.
