I cannot recommend Dr. Elliott Jacobs highly enough. I underwent gynecomastia surgery with him on August 2, 2024, after suffering from this condition since puberty at the age of 14. For 20 years, I dealt with the physical and emotional burden of gynecomastia before finally making the decision to change my life at 34 years old. When I went for a consultation in June 2024, I was immediately impressed by Dr. Jacobs’ expertise. He has dedicated his entire career to gynecomastia surgery, and as soon as I met him, I knew I was in the right hands. Committing to surgery can feel overwhelming, especially with a severe case like mine, but Dr. Jacobs made me feel completely confident. The surgery itself went incredibly smoothly. I followed every guideline he provided for both pre- and post-operative care, which made the process seamless. The day after my surgery, I had a follow-up visit, and despite it being a Friday procedure, Dr. Jacobs went above and beyond, scheduling a Zoom call with me on Saturday morning to check on my progress. The following Monday, I saw him in person for another checkup, and over the next several weeks, I had multiple additional follow-ups, including one just a few days ago for my five-month post-op checkup. The results are truly life-changing. My gynecomastia is completely gone, and my chest looks incredible—even better than I had hoped. Dr. Jacobs’ attention to detail and unmatched expertise gave me a result I never thought possible. During the recovery process, I experienced moments of worry, but I trusted Dr. Jacobs fully. Every single thing he assured me about came true exactly as he said it would.Dr. Jacobs is, in my opinion, the top gynecomastia specialist out there and worth traveling to if needed. Luckily, I’m local to his office in Boca Raton, Florida, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone considering this surgery, no matter where they are located. This surgery has truly given me a new lease on life. My confidence has skyrocketed, and I feel like a brand-new person. Thank you, Dr. Jacobs, for your exceptional care and expertise. I’ll forever be grateful for the transformation you’ve made possible.
Dr Jacobs performed Gynecomastia surgery on my teenage son. We could not be more pleased with his staff and his professionalism. He was pleasant from start to finish. Even better my son is extremely satisfied with the results. He has a big smile on his face and newfound confidence. I highly recommend Dr Jacobs if you are considering plastic surgery of any kind.
My experience with Dr. Jacobs and his staff was fantastic from start to finish!!! His work is expectional, his staffand himself are extremely polite, funny and genuinely care about each patient. I have not one single bad thing to say! Absolutely HIGHLY recommend Dr. Jacobs!
One year ago, Dr. Jacobs performed a procedure to treat my gynecomastia as well as some light liposuction around the midsection. I was back to work the very next day, with no one the wiser. Over the year I've watched the results reveal themselves and couldn't be happier. No matter how much chest pressing or abdominal workouts I did, or however lean I got, I wasn't happy with the way I looked with my shirt off. Now, my chest looks strong and I can actually see my abs! An unexpected payoff of the procedures I have is that the work I put into fitness (post-healing, of course) delivered quick and visible results. Those results motivated me to work out even more...and so on and so forth. It created a momentum where I now find myself in the best shape of my life. Not just functional, but functional and aesthetic.
I had been searching for a surgeon for nearly 2 years and constantly came across Dr. Jacobs' name online, but insisted on attempting to find other surgeons just in case they happened to be a little closer. Well, I found others who were closer, but they did not have the confidence, history, or skill to perform my surgery. Once I had a consultation with Dr. Jacobs I knew I had to go with him. He makes it very clear through his observation whether the surgery method is right for you or not, and when deciding that it is, he informs you about every step to take afterwards leading to the surgery date, and any time after that for healing. His staff is also very professional and caring, and has fast response times in terms of call-backs. I remember them checking up on me after surgery while I was resting in one of their rooms. They treat you like family. You sort of forget that it's technically a doctor's/surgeon's office because of that. Well I'm getting carried away, but I would like to point out lastly that Dr. Jacob's surgical method is very minimal in terms of punctures and cuts. I'm fully healed now and the scars are so tiny and very natural looking. It doesn't look like I obviously had surgery. It just looks like a man's chest, and I'm very grateful to have found someone who managed to make this work for me. My posture has improved since the surgery, you know. I stand up straight when I walk. Originally I did not feel comfortable doing so. And I can take off my shirt when I jump in the pool or go to the beach. An entirely new range of possibilities has opened up for me because of this surgery. Thank you.
I had my first gynecomastia removal surgery in my teens. It left a scar and a small crater indentation in one of the nipple area. Many years later after much research I found Dr. Jacobs. Dr.Jacobs and his staff was warm and welcoming when I first entered the office. I was never given pressure to proceed with the revision surgery. Throughout all the consultations Dr. Jacobs examined my body first and then answered all my questions. He told me in details what can be done to improve the previous surgery, risks involved and recovery. My chest is much better after the revision surgery done by Dr. Jacobs. I'm satisfied with the results. Wished I found him the first time.
I would recommend Dr. Jacobs without hesitation. From my very first visit he made me feel very comfortable, welcomed, and best of all - that he could help me. I'm one of many guys who had the unfortunate development of "puffy" nipples during puberty and lived the whole of my adult life trying to hide and cover them up. It's just one of those things not many people understand, and is embarrassing to explain. Dr. Jacobs understands. And he can help. My surgery and post-op treatment was all very well explained and conducted. I had questions along the way and was given answers immediately. Today I have an absolutely fantastic result! It has meant the world to me to have the help of Dr. Jacobs and his team and I would recommend him to friends, family, or perfect strangers. Meet with him yourself, and I'm sure you will agree :)
Excellent customer service and professionalism. Dr. Jacobs was nothing but respectful and dignified; he listened to my concerns from my perspective, and made sure he took them into account when deciding what to do about my condition.
Great experience with gyno surgery. I would have gone years ago had I known that te surgery was actually affordable. The website doesn't advertise fixed prices since every case is different, but it was way cheaper than I had imagined. Also, Dr. Jacobs promises you an all-inclusive flat rate at the initial consultation, and he delivers just that with no hidden fees. As far as the operation, I experienced even less pain after surgery than I was warned to expect. I was out and about the next day. No pushy sales techniques either. Very friendly and supportive staff.
Wonderful outcome, better than expected. Much better contours now. I had type 2 Gynecomastia and needed the surgery. Was not overweight. Dr. Jacobs walked me through the entire process on our first meeting and set realistic goals so that I knew what I was getting into. The entire process was smooth, and everything was planned ahead of time. No surprises, or hidden charges.
When teens put on weight, some of the fat goes to the chest. Also, virtually all men have some degree of breast tissue on their chest. Through a complicated process, obesity can produce an excess of breast tissue on the chest as well. When you lose weight, only the fat tissue will diminish -- the breast tissue remains. That is why you still have man boobs even though you have lost the weight. There is no way to remove this excess tissue other than surgery, which is quick, straight forward and produces lasting results. You appear to be an excellent candidate for gynecomastia surgery: moderate amount of tissue to be removed and youth. You would probably require liposuction and direct gland excision (performed around the edge of the areola). Would strongly suggest you consult with an expert in gynecomastia surgery for the best and most predictable results. If there is no one available locally, then consider traveling for this expertise.Suggest you peruse my website, which is specifically dedicated to gynecomastia, for additional inform. Your initial results look pretty good. In some cases, additional spontaneous skin tightening can take up to a year. It occurs very slowly, so be patient. You age is also a significant plus. And finally, try losing some weight (at least 10-15 lbs or more) and pumping iron to build up the pecs. Larger, bulkier pecs may aid in taking up any slack of the skin.Elliot W. Jacobs, MD, FACSNew York City
Thanks for your photos. You appear to be middle aged and your skin probably has some innate laxity, all of which makes any revision surgery more challenging. You do appear to have a crater deformity involving tissues below the nipples, rather than involving the nipples themselves. The "good news" is that you appear to have residual fat above the nipples as well as lower chest and upper abdomen. There is also excess fat on the lateral chest. These adjacent areas of residual fat can be liposuctioned to reduce the apparent depth of the crater deformity. And they would also provide some fat which could be moved under the skin to fill in the crater deformities -- this is known as a fat flap procedure and I have used this technique extensively in my revision cases. While your skin laxity may be a mild problem, I do believe you could achieve and substantial improvement in your chest contours. Perfection, though, may not be possible.Kindly check out the extensive section on revision gynecomastia surgery on my website, which is captioned below.Good luckElliot W. All of my FTM patients request complete removal of their breasts and a flat, masculine chest. It is often termed "top surgery." This is absolutely NOT breast augmentation, which is actually breast enlargement -- and is used for my MTF patients.Basically, depending upon confirmation by physical examination, if you are a B cup or smaller, then the operation can be performed with minimal scars. Larger breasts would require a double incision type of procedure -- and there are some variations of this.Would recommend you consult several surgeons who are conversant with these procedures.
