Thanks for the question. After 6 weeks your surgery area is totally healed and yes you can play basketball and also do other sport activities. I wish you all the best.
This is something you need to discuss with your surgeon. For my patients, I want them to wait 4 to 6 weeks, depending on how they are healing, before resuming any type of formal exercise. Good luck!
An important part of recovery, especially if liposuction is used, is to wear a compression vest. This will help control swelling and tenderness. Patients usually wear the vest 24-7 for about one month and then for the next month only 12 hours a day and while exercising. I typically have my patients wait between 3-6 weeks after surgery before engaging in sports, depending on how well they respond to compression. In order to get a qualified, ethical, and expert opinion on your surgical options and expectations, schedule an in-person office consultation with a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.Best of luck,Keith M. Normally, patients are asked to wait 6 weeks before returning to unrestricted activity. This helps to prevent the inadvertent trauma or bleeding while the tissues are healing. Even though you may be cleared, we frequently see patients who have some discomfort at 6 weeks and thus they may need to continue to modify their activities until this resolves. This can vary from doctor to doctor and thus, your physician may have their own specific protocol.
You can do any kind of exercise after a month to six weeks as long as there are no open wounds or pain.
Speak with your surgeon. We all have different protocols and a lot will depend on how you feel, but, in general, I'd say 6-8 weeks before you're back to heavy exercise. Best of luck.
I have my patients wait about 3-4 weeks before going back to aerobics and 6-8 weeks to go back to vigorous exercise. Best to review with your doctor.
There are two common operations to correct gynecomastia: liposuction or glandular resection with or without additional lipo. For lipo alone, I would recommend avoiding basketball for 3-4 weeks. For the larger operation, probably 6 weeks would be more appropriate. See a board certified plastic surgeon for consultation and evaluation as to which procedure is most appropriate for you.
To avoid complications I recommend you limit activity such as basketball for 6 weeks. Also, wearing a compression vest will help protect and heal.
The likely solution for you is skin excision and areolar reduction. This can be done under local anesthesia and it’s possible to have improvement. If your skin did not sufficiently contract, this is the only reliable option. Non surgical skin tightening devices exist, but the results are less p...
Thank you for the question and for providing the photos. It looks like you have some significant problems with the blood supply to the nipples following your surgery. You need to see a local plastic surgeon for advice regarding dressings. Some minor surgery may be required to remove any dead...
Hi Ohadunive, Thank you for your question regarding a second gynecomastia surgery. Based on your photo and not a thorough physical examination, I would suggest breast skin and fat removal surgery. Since you have excess breast skin you need breast skin excision. For your revision gynecomastia...
