I feel as though I constantly have to remind myself to lift my eyebrows so that my eyes don't look droopy and tired. I hate how my upper eyelids look. I'm only 20 and already have tired looking eyes, I don't drink or smoke and wondering why this is and what I can do
Answer: Is 20 years of age too young for an upper eyelid plastic surgery (blepharoplasty)? it is not if you have excess of skin Thank you for your question and pictures. Most people will frown out at the idea but your pictures do show an excess of skin. When I see this in a young patient, they usually tell me that mom or dad also had the same condition at a young age, proving the genetic link to aging.I would also recommend skin excision only as keeping the fat inside is important in young people and I don't see bulging fat pads either. This can be done easily under local anesthesia, day surgery, or if you prefer, a light intravenous anesthesia. The recovery is very simple with perhaps might tenderness for 1 day or so and mind swelling for approximately one week.Stitches in place for 5-7 days. One of your lower lid does show some loss of volume and you might want to consider some fillers or fat grafting at the same time.Hope this helps!Kind regards,Dr. Marc DuPere, aesthetic plastic surgeon

Answer: Botox or surgery Thank you for your question and pictures. Botox would be a non surgical option to try and raise your eyebrow to make the appearance of less heaviness, although this is temporary. If you have loose skin and puffiness then surgery would the only option to remove. Extra skin and fat on the upper eyelid can cause the eyes to feel and look tired. Taken to the extreme, the extra skin can hang so much that it can hamper your vision and cause discomfort. If you look tired when you're not, and can’t put eye shadow or mascara due to excess skin covering your eyelids, then you can benefit from upper eyelid lift or Upper Blepharoplasty. Please make sure you find a reputable and qualified plastic surgeon who can assess you properly to give you a realistic idea of what outcome you can achieve. All The Best

Answer: Sagging of eyelids It's possible you have excess eyelid skin, but in the photos your eyelids appear pretty normal to me and I would not think you need anything done. However, Without an exam, it will not be possible to fully evaluate you and give you recommendations. Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons. Be certain your surgeon is properly certified. I've attached a link where you can start your search.

Answer: Droopy hooded eyes At a young age the best treatments are non invasive such as Thermismooth or ResurFx laser. Both modalities can tighten the skin and reduce the hooding. If that fails then surgery is the last resort but should be done conservatively.RegardsDr. J
