I have allergies and I notice that I frequently rub my eyes when I get bad flareups. My eyelids swell and turn red. 3 questions: 1. Can this rubbing damage the orbital septum and subsequently result in orbital fat moving forward and downwards? Also, how strong is the orbital septum? 2. I have blueish discoloration + thin skin under my eyes. Does the fact that I have very thin under eye skin predispose me to eye bags? 2. I also have a negative vector. Does this predispose me to early eye bags?

Dear Vancouver,It appears from your photos that you have evidence of fullness in the lower eyelid region and festoons/malar mounds on the cheek as well.
These changes can make a person appear tired, sick and older even when they feel fine inside.
The best options would be surgery to remove ...
There are 2 basic ways to tighten the levator muscle to correct eyelid ptosis, including 1) anterior or external approach using skin incision vs. 2) posterior or internal approach with hidden incision. See following link for more details. Either procedure can be done under local anesthesia.
