I asked something similar once, but have extra info now. I had breast reduction surgery last year. My best fitting bra now is a 36DD. I did the rice trick and it came to 720ml per cup. When I asked for a revision my surgeon said he only wants to remove another 100g/breast. I feel like he's not listening to what I want. Not sure if it affects mass much but I have category D density breasts. Is 100g reasonable or should I get another opinion? I was hoping to be a B cup.
Answer: Breast reduction Hi, thank you for sharing your question. You may want to remove more weight from your breast to achieve a smaller volume. It’s hard to predict the exact amount based on photos alone.

Answer: Revision breast reduction One of the most common limitations of breast reduction surgery is that we did not go small enough. There are limitations as to how small you can make the breast in each attempt. We must think about the blood supply to the nipple, maintaining a round breast mound avoiding a carved out contour problem etc . . . Having said that, you have a very acceptable result. I think another reduction will get you significantly closer to your expectation at 100 grams. Another thought is that, now that your nipple position is perfect, and the skin has been tightened, liposuction can remove approximately half of the tissue resulting in a smaller version of your breast. The advantage here is that you will not have to have all of the incisions reopened and go through another healing period, it can be done with local anesthesia with relatively little down time and risk . . . Something to consider. Thank you for sharing.

Answer: Surgery Your rice test is not correct. One cup increase in breast is usually 150 cc's in the smaller breast up to 200 cc's in the large breasts. The 720 cc's is about 4-5 cups. You would have no tissue left if your surgeon tried to take that much. Plus, enough tissue must be left to keep the nipples alive.

Answer: Breast reduction When considering breast reduction there are several factors to consider. Obviously size/volume is one. Another is shape. And yet another is adequate blood supply to the tissues. I encourage you to speak to your surgeon about your concerns and listen to hers/his. There is no harm in seeking a second opinion if you feel you and your surgeon are not communicating well.

Answer: Further reduction: second opinion? Thank you for your question, and for the photographs. I believe during Breast Reduction, the most important factor is not the amount of breast tissue reduced/weight but the overall shape and proportion of the cosmetic result. From the photographs, it appears that your breasts are quite wide. A very significant reduction in volume would often result in a very flat, under-projected breast However, seeking a second opinion is always a good option to help you decide the best course of action. All the best with your further surgery. Andrea Marando Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Manchester, UK

Answer: Secondary breast reduction Thanks for your question! If you feel like you aren't being heard, there is nothing wrong in getting a second opinion. He may be saying only 100g because he still wants to leave you with a nice shape to your breast. If you try to remove too much, you'll end up boxxy. Also, often times we wear cup sizes because of the width of our breasts which cannot be changed much. Good luck!
