Thanks for your question. Best is to make sure your surgeon knows about it so he/she can examine you and decide whether is safe to procede with the surgery or not.
You need to contact your doctor and ask them. If you are just have sedation I cannot imagine it making a difference. If you are going to sleep you might want to wait.
I recommend telling your surgeon so they can help you make a decision as to whether you should go forward with your treatment. You have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Dear biancao, every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Dear Ms. Biancao,Thank you for your information and questions.I would definitely contact both your Plastic Surgeon and Anesthiologist ASAP. "Colds" and “sore throats” are in are usually viral in origin there are not treated with antibiotics. Since you are undergoing a elective cosmetic surgical procedure you should be in optimal condition. While a “sore throat” per sae will not affect the technical portion of your surgery it may affect your recovery. Therefore I would most likely advising postpone your surgery until fully recovered and in normal health. I suggest:1) plenty of rest2) plenty of fluids3) hand washing4) consider wearing a surgical mask5) no cross contamination ie eating or drinking from same containersWhile certainly disappointing to postpone due to illness, however your safety and long term result would well be worth the wait. I trust you have chosen a Plastic Surgeon who is experienced and Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In addition ideally a members of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (denoting by membership as having met additional criteria and a focus on Cosmetic Plastic Surgery).I wish you my best and success,R.
