Hi, so I’m 21 years old and I lost 10 lbs out of no where and now I’m underweight. I’m 5’5 I weigh 108 and my BMI is 18.0 I’m planning on getting a nose job soon but would like to know if it’s possible for me.
Answer: Rhinoplasty and Weight As long as you have no metabolic issues due to weight loss or nutritional deficiencies then you should be good to go on the rhinoplasty. Anesthetic doses are always titrated to body weight. Best of luck.

Answer: Rhinoplasty for Patients with Medical Concerns I always remind my patients that a traditional surgical rhinoplasty is a major medical surgery that requires anesthesia. While each patient is examined and treated accordingly, there are always potential hazards, especially in cases where the patient is underweight or has other medical concerns. With proper precautions and guidance, you should be fine as long as you are in the hands of a trained, board-certified medical professional with significant experience in major surgery. With that in mind, there is now a non-surgical alternative that utilizes fillers to lift and tighten portions of the nose. While a non-invasive injection is unquestionably safer than a traditional surgery, the results will not be permanent. Patients still experience life changing results with this non-surgical option and with virtually no pain or downtime it is a highly desirable alternative.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello, Your weight will not stop you from being able to undergo a rhinoplasty procedure, assuming that you have a clean bill of health. Take your time and choose an above average Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to perform your rhinoplasty. They will send you for lab work to make sure you are a healthy candidate for surgery. As for your weight, anesthesia administration is based off of your weight, so just make sure to tell your pre-op crew your current weight that day. In my office, we weigh our patients in the pre-op room before their surgery so the anesthesiologist can adjust and provide the best care. Hope this helps. Best Wishes, Dr. Lane Smith Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Las Vegas, NV

Answer: Rhinoplasty for underweight patient... The primary consideration is your overall health, so being skinny is not a problem. Is there a reason why you lost 10 pounds rapidly? Have you been seen by your primary physician and given a clean bill of health? If so, then you should be good to go. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty specialist for consultation.
