Answer: Rhinoplasty for Symmetry Hello and thank you for your questions and photos. It is not uncommon to experience asymmetry. Generally speaking, a rhinoplasty procedure can make your nostrils more symmetrical. I would suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience in order to understand how your procedure would be performed. During a consultation you will most certainly be informed of the exact maneuvers suggested for your particular situation. Of course it depends on a patient’s specific circumstances, but typically an asymmetrical excision can be performed to even up the nostril size. Best of luck!

Answer: Nostril asymmetry I would say your husband is the unusual one. Most people have different shapes to their nostrils. No one ever really notices that. If the rest of your nose is ok then don't do a rhinoplasty.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Rhinoplasty can be designed to improve your nostril symmetry. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Answer: Nostril holes? Thanks for writing,Welcome to the human body, we are asymmetrical everywhere, breast, butts, belly etc. Very few people talk to a face looking up at the bottom of the nose. When looking at your nose from the bottom view you can see your right cheek is a little smaller than your left cheek, something that falls within the asymmetry of the body.I understand your concern but an attempt to improve this, in my estimation is a long expensive stretch for a short gain.I hope this helps.Stephen M.
