I recently had Restylane Refyne under eyes and lips. Defyne to my nasolabial folds. I had some volume loss in weight loss. The doctor kept saying my skin was like a child’s. I use Neocutis and Retin-A. I am 52 and have always used sunscreen and skincare.

Answer: Do filler injections with a microcannula damage the skin? I appreciate your concern, but assure you that if your injections were performed by an experienced, qualified injector, you should not experience any damage to your skin. I use both needles and microcannulas in my practice, depending on the treatment site and other factors. Microcannulas allow for more penetration in the skin, reducing the number of pokes you receive during your treatment. If you have chosen a qualified injector, you should see a good result from your treatment without significant risks.

Answer: Restylane Refyne For certain areas of the face using cannulas can be an asset. They are thin, very pliable, blunted and cause much less trauma than needles which are sharp and ridged. Less punctures have to be made in the face therefore less bruising and pain. For thin delicate areas like under eyes (tear troughs) and for smokers lines cannulas work great. Also the thinness of the filler makes a difference. I like Refyne for those areas. It also draws less water which can cause swelling. Hope this helps. JB
